U.S. Navy orders unmanned, underwater mine-clearing craft to sweep Persian Gulf amid fears of imminent attacks on oil platforms from Iran
The U.S Navy is transporting dozens of unmanned underwater craft to the Persian Gulf to help locate and destroy mines in anticipation of a military conflict with Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The tiny SeaFox, four-foot long submersibles are equipped with an underwater camera, sonar and an explosive charge and have been urgently requested by Marine General James Mattis, the top U.S military official in the Middle East.

Each $100,000 submersible is designed to be either detonated near mines in the water or to detonate the mines themselves by ramming them.

Re: U.S. Navy orders unmanned, underwater mine-clearing craft to sweep Persian Gulf amid fears of imminent attacks on oil platforms from Iran
Officials in Tehran have threatened to close the narrow Strait of Hormuz before, thereby affecting up to a fifth of the oil traded worldwide.

The first batch of the SeaFox unmanned submersibles have already been deployed to the Persian Gulf along with four MH-53 Sea Dragon helicopters.

In addition, the U.S. Navy has also doubled the number of minesweepers in the region as it prepares for a military conflict with Iran.

The four Avenger-class vessels arrived in Bahrain on June 24 to counter the threat of Iranian midget-submarines, which 'are a huge problem for us,' according to retired Navy Commander Christopher Harmer, who from 2008 to 2009 was the director of future operations for the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet.

Just saw this on faux news...

Clearing out the way for the destroyers to move on in.

If Iran is serious about closing that strait... oh boy.

The whole worlds gonna have a hand in this one, for sure.

Give me one reason that would benefit Iran to make a preemptive strike.

The only reason why Iran would do a preemptive strike is that is there only way to do any damage. Because the follow up by us would destroy them. Or their just plane stupid.

Exactly and Iran knows this and that's exactly why this is all bullshit setting up a false flag. There is no way that they would make a preemptive strike knowing the consequences of such. Why would they give a reason to be attacked? There are many reasons for them to NOT make an attack.

Well, let's say they are dropping mines in the strait, maybe putting them there AS the preemptive strike. Knowing that our first land assault would come by amphibious insertion.

Our navy is gonna destroy whatever they got near the coast, and I don't know off the top of my head how far we can reach inland, but that doesn't matter because of our advanced air force.

It would be a swift war, hopefully with no nukes involved.

Was just listening to fox news and a guest (not sure who) was on saying they were positive there was going to be a terror attack on US whether it be on an embassy or what not they weren't sure.

I really wish I had recorded it so I could have heard the whole thing but I have 3 kids running around.

..The Navy also has MH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters and USS Ponce, an old amphibious warship that has been converted into a "floating base," stationed in Bahrain, home to the Fifth Fleet headquarters.

And in late April, a squadron of F-22 stealth fighters was sent to the Al Dhaafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.

Iran has an arsenal of about 2,000 sea mines that can be laid by any one of its dozen submarines or its many speedboats.

But the Strait of Hormuz is NOT property of Iran.

If they decide to lay mines, thats an act of war.

LOL

Fact of the matter is - it's only a matter of time.

Everyone knows it.

Their message keeps getting more and more violent as the UN steps up sanctions.

Now we are pre-emptively searching for underwater mines so our sea bearing vessels can have safe passage.

Pieces are falling into place, faster now than ever before, and if diplomacy won't work, (hasn't in the past) then look for a hot conflict with Iran.

I'd like to reiterate that it just won't be the US, the whole world's got a stake in that strait, and its not Iran's to close. Period.
