Posting from my phone, can't tell if anyone is out, I'm at work, we are partially back on tho.

It's from the sun. That's what happens when a solar flare hits the power lines - it generates more electricity than the lines can handle and it all fries trying to get to ground.

Hope your homeowner's insurance is paid up.

Happened to me in Upstate NY last week during the 18
M Flares.

The main box on my road is in my front field.

BOOM

Threw sparks an set the field on fire.

Then it exploded again.
When I went out to see what the hell blew up.


As I watched the fire waiting for the FD, I could hear a half dozen breakers exploding off in the distance.

Totally Flare related IMO

I am a lineman. That is I work on high voltage power lines for a living. What you experienced was just a high voltage fuse blowing. Generally it sounds like a 12 ga shotgun firing. Something got the lines together which is why you saw them swinging. A bird or squirrel possibly. As soon as any 2 come in contact with each other the fuse will blow. Happens all the time.
