Romney wins = Depression, Obama wins = Violence...

So the way I figure it if Romney and the right win this election our country will head down the road of austerity which has decimated European nations like Greece and Ireland. With a nation like ours we talking the great depression on a whole other level. The tent cities and soup lines of the past will be like heaven compared to what our generation will have to endure. With the far right in charge charity for the poor and starving will be seen as useless spending. Tent cities like hooverville will be seen as civil disobedience like OWS. This is a no win situation for the USA. Our industry has been diminished and the only way out of a depression is a renaissance of industry. They quickest and most effective way to revitalize industry is war and on this scale it would mean world war. With today's technology a world war would be devastating to the entire worlds population if not an artificial extinction level event.

Now on the other hand if Obama wins it means there will be a very strong and dangerous divide in American politics. The rhetoric has steadily become more and more extreme since 2008. At first it may start with a few acts of domestic terrorism IE. Oklahoma city bombing, or it may start with states pushing for secession, or a combination of both. Now here's the problem. If states start seceding what happens to the military personnel and equipment in said state or more important the nuclear weapons that may be in said state. Then it becomes a civil war. On the other side if it's purely domestic terrorism if it is severe enough it could lead to actions such as martial law that would gain support for the terrorists. So it's a real possibility our country could be divided into civil war. Now if that happens, then what happens with the rest of the world without our presence, N Korea, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Russia, Etc. The entire world destabilizes.

So my point is either way we are screwed. Our only hope no matter what the outcome is to put our political differences aside and work together threw whatever crises we may face in the future. I have a feeling that this generation is on the threshold of being the next "greatest generation" like during ww2. We will have more important issues to face than which side is right about that social issue or that fiscal issue. We will need to come together left and right to do what we need to to survive.
