That is not entirely true.
I tried finding work recently. I got turned down at minimum wage jobs for being "over qualified" or "we can't pay you what you're worth" and when I told them I didn't mind the low wages they said "we can't afford to hire and train you for you to leave when you find a job that pays you what you are worth".
Then there comes the whole issue of paying daycare, daycare here for the middle child runs around $175 a week for the youngest upwards of $250 (special needs) so in order for me to even be making money I'd have to work 2nd or 3rd shift so my husband would be home.
