When all this smoke clears from this joke of an election... we wake up to find the corporations have bribed congress into removing all of our rights for their profit potential.

We will then know who actually runs this piece of shit...erm...country. here is a clue....It's not us!

I'm not exactly sure what to call what we are becoming...a corporatocracy?...a Plutocracy? A Oligarchy?

I can completely understand the "doom watchers" on this and other sites...they may be wiser than a lot of people give them credit for...not that it's going to happen, but it can appear to be the only "real" solution.

The "goldsters" have all the power, all the technology and all the means...us "peasants" have no way to put up much of a fight for long...so revolution/rebellion is pointless.

No...the only hope is cataclysm. Cataclysm is unprejudiced...it kills everything equally...it doesn't care how much or how little money you have.

Only when we have been slapped back to the stone age will we have the chance to fix what we allowed to break. Maybe...just maybe, we can start things off right next time.

I enjoy the "doom" threads on here. For the most part, they make me laugh...but at the heart, I can kinda understand why people so hope for it. It sometimes looks like that is the only way to strip away the corruption and start clean and fresh.

It's like they're drilling for the nerve...

The only hope is peaceful non compliance, simple as that, those guys can't do a thing if we as a whole don't comply... I mean you can't stop them, but it also works the other way.

I worked in government and was told half jokingly 15 years ago that toasters and TVs would watch and record everything you do in 10 years. So that would have made it around 2005. I assume I have zero privacy 24/7 in the current age worldwide. All I can say is , I'm a grown man sitting at the computer wearing Batman underwear and drinking Busch beer. Hope they like the show.

It's high time the American people take back what is rightfully theirs. The internet is an extension of our natural ability to communicate. Our communications are not "property" that can be bought, sold and traded as a commodity (unless we allow).

I'm tired of the incremental tyranny. Bring on the full scale tyranny. This way, maybe people will finally see the government and business elites for what they really are...authoritarian assholes. Either people will finally wake up and take action or we'll become true slaves.

I would like to take this time to remind the citizens of the USA that WE THE PEOPLE are the GOVERNMENT. Please try to refrain from speaking about the GOVERNMENT as if it is something outside of ourselves because this only reinforces the schizophrenic condition of our society.

It is the MEGA CORPORATIONS and SPONSORED INTERESTS who have SEIZED control of our government away from the PEOPLE who are the rightful seat of authority. All we have to do is simply start taking back what belongs to us and quit playing the POLITICAL GAMES that only serve to undermine our TRUE POWER.

Well said...that is why...in my humble opinion...the clever guys out there will create a "free" internet. They can sell advertising and such to cover costs but they should make it 100% free speech and free content. I remember when the "internet" first came into it's own...back in the middle 90's. It was awesome back then. You could find just about anything for "free"...now...some fuck is always looking to make a dollar...this needs to be side-stepped by a clever individual...they WILL make money, but not this way.

just wait for net neutrality to kick in where the nets gonna be tiered into pricing controls - sorta like cabletv packages
