Something big collided with the Moon this morning? - pics inside

Sorry folks - not real a collision.

For parts of Central Europe, North Africa and West Asia the Moon went in front of Jupiter in the morning / night sky.

During the night the sky was cloud-covered and just half an hour before the event the sky clear up.
Thus the telescope setup and polar alignment was quick-and-dirty - no time for a movie setup, just some photos.




Upper left: first contact
Bottom right: Jupiter almost covered


Upper left: two small dots in the center: the Jupiter moons Io and Europa
Upper right: first glimpse of Jupiter
Bottom right: Jupiter almost out

Then the clouds rolled in again.


And of course all that happened exact at the times, calculated long before (for my location - first contact 2012/07/15 03:53 - last contact 2012/07/15 04:21).
No Earth wobble
No poleshift
No cups with Earth, Moon, Venus in it.
