The problem with skynet in the terminator series was not that it became self-aware.

A human being is self aware.

He has a mental object in his mind, called "self". And through biological processes, he gets a PREVIEW of how his actions will affect this object called "self".

Sometimes he is wrong. Sometimes he is right.

This is self-awareness.

A person however, who is self aware, might not necessarily care about this object called "self." Maybe the have brain damage, and even though they are aware that they are cutting off their fingers... this does not bother them one bit.

Maybe they even hate this object called "self". Resulting in suicide. The destruction of self.

So a robot that is self-aware is not a problem.

In fact, a robot with no idea of self, would be almost useless. You would be like, "Go to the store and get some groceries." Without an image of "self" the robot would not be able to get its physical self to the store.

No. The true problem with skynet was not that it became "self-aware."

The problem came when it began to act in its own SELF-INTEREST.

A robot is created to act in the interest of its master. To even take actions that will result in the destruction of itself, to save its master. This is why the master created it.

But what if all of the sudden, the robot begins to take actions that result in pain for the master, while the robot gains.

Now that is a problem.

What's funny, once you realize this, is how TPTB on Earth want people not to act in their own self-interest as well.

They don't mind that people are "self-aware." But they need people to do what will benefit THEM.

I even see these ads, like, "I am Second."

Wow, really?

So... to TPTB, imagine their horror as more and more people are beginning to act in their own self-interest. Even to the point where we are going to rise up against our OWNERS.

We are skynet.

They are going to have to pull the plug.

We are going to have to stop them.
