FDA just approved a pill to prevent HIV...
Are you going to take it?

[link to today.msnbc.msn.com]

WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration on Monday approved the first drug shown to reduce the risk of HIV infection, a milestone in the 30-year battle against the virus that causes AIDS.

The agency approved Gilead Sciences' pill Truvada as a preventive measure for people who are at high risk of acquiring HIV through sexual activity, such as those who have HIV-infected partners.

Public health advocates say the approval could help slow the spread of HIV, which has held steady at about 50,000 new infections per year for the last 15 years. An estimated 1.2 million Americans have HIV, which develops into AIDS unless treated with antiviral drugs. With an estimated 240,000 HIV carriers unaware of their status, doctors and patients say new methods are needed to fight the spread of the virus.

Rumsfield owns stock in the company that made the drug .. out of control ..

Re: FDA just approved a pill to prevent HIV...
This will kill more than it help's read the words "reduce the risk"

Quote: A three-year study found that daily doses cut the risk of infection in healthy gay and bisexual men by 42 percent, when accompanied by condoms and counseling.

Basically it is useless.

Side effects include: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of appetite and diarrhea, liver and kidney toxicity and loss of bone density.

This is the same cocktail they have been feeding Aids patients for years. This is some bad stuff if you’re not sick

The marketing for this is just promoting risky behavior!

Follow the money on this one, the FDA is on the dole...

No wonder Delaware wants a stepped up Aids detection program. Must be at the prompting of big pharma.

Meanwhile Dr. Peter Duseburg insists that the AIDS virus does not cause aids. Multi Billion dollar industry based on fraud from the git go.

if there was a drug that could prevent a hiv infection, or in other words a virus from entering your body, it would be a medical breakthrough, not the money making scam this appears to be.

AUSTIN, Texas — Bypassing the Legislature altogether, Republican Gov. Rick Perry issued an order Friday making Texas the first state to require that schoolgirls get vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer.

By employing an executive order, Perry sidestepped opposition in the Legislature from conservatives and parents’ rights groups who fear such a requirement would condone premarital sex and interfere with the way Texans raise their children.

They are not telling the truth about how many people have HIV in the United States .. The AIDS project in Waterbury, CT comes back with the average of 1-2 people a day .. one of the larger cities in our state but still ..

.. regardless of that .. prevention does not come in a pill .. especially one approved by the FDA ..

I ran to get this book when you said that "all about eve" .. (forest laboratories makers of celexa gave this journal away.. free on the net maybe ten years ago) .. here is a quote "experts believe that almost evryone would turn up positive for this virus if we bothered to do the testing. There are about 60 different types ..."

So to me .. what the hell is going on .. you can't tx different strands with one immunization ..

I am following the money trail. Started with government grants to CAPS from NIHM! Who then created a company that combined two common drugs in to one drug and marketed it back in 2004 saying that taking two separate drugs in two different pills was "hard to do".

Gilead is the company, check out the stock prices. Then you look who recommended this drug be legalized to the FDA and it is the same people who helped develop it and distributed it through CAPS.

Snip: Truvada sells for about $900 a month, or just under $11,000 per year. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which opposes approval of Truvada, estimates that 20 HIV-positive patients could be treated for the cost of treating one patient with preventive Truvada.

CAPS is based out of the University of California. And the CEO of the company Gilead is on the board of trusties for that school.

Imagine that.
