BEYOND PISSED OFF.. DENTIST FUCKED MY TOOTH OVER.. now have a dead tooth and need advice on root canal and dental places in Tulsa

well 3000 is a good price for a root canal, does that include the crown?

You could have it pulled for about 50 bucks. I'd say go back to that same asshole and have him fix it. Then don't pay the bill.

yep, this includes the crown. its for my upper canine tooth. the root canal itself can range between 400 and 800 even with the discount. then they charge you for the post-core thing, and then the crown. they refuse to do a root canal without the crown. most here, anyways. either way.. we dont even have that to pay. we're lucky if we have 200 leftover after rent week. LOL but we are still paying off the other medical bills from an ER visit a year ago, and the other dental thing.

about seeing the original dentist and having him do it. well, hes got a horrible reputation we found out for root canals and they charge up front before the procedures. or if after the procedure, they wont even let you leave if you dont pay it. plus, we dont need any crazy collection agency on our butts. trying to prove he screwed the tooth up, would be hard. while its obvious... they're all protected by lawsuits and he'd make some crazy excuse. plus, he could easily say the root was dead before that. either way, you dont put a filling on a non-drilled cavity!!!! we found out afterwards. though, the xray they did after that filling when i complained of pain, it showed to be fine still. no root death, etc. though he was like Lets do a root canal anyway!! he over-suggests root canals for anything, at all. he refused to take the filling out even when i said the filling was bothering me on a tooth that never hurt ever before that. and it felt weird on there. new dentist said they were done VERY badly. likle he just slapped the filling material on them and went. hes too busy trying to take on 5 or more appointments at once. thats how he runs his business.

plus, i wouldnt trust the bastard to work on this tooth. though, he should be paying us back for this crap or should offer to do it for free.....

i thought about having it pulled.... but its my front tooth.. the canine.. and it would be really weird looking. and if i can get it saved somehow.... i wanna at least try.

oh trust me, though... i wanna go back to that idiot and demand he fix this crap or else im going to set off a lawsuit. maybe hed be scared enough to just go and do it.

Theres only 1 actual dental school I could find here that offers such a thing and thats out in Oklahoma City and they've got such a high volume they screen and theres a waiting list and I'm like 2 hrs away.. but would do it, though. I will try and call them tomorrow and see.

I didi find a few dental clinics, non-profit ones, that offer care for those who are uninsured and low income, etc. ... I am assuming they are still valid and you dont need some major requirements to obtain care.. like virtually making no income, type of a thing. But will call in the morning as well.

As far as pulling it... eh, I wanna try saving it first, especially since its not completely dead yet, and hasnt abscessed at all. Dentists said its partially alive. However, if it DOES decide to die off outta nowhere between now and then and all hell breaks loose, I will get it pulled. I am not messing with sepsis, and brain rot.

From what I understand one usually looses the tooth with the root canal anyway, so why go to the expense have it pulled then an implant.

Dental school probably best option, but when in pain...

the first link is for rife frequency healing. I have used it on stuff and it worked for me. It for sure cant hurt. It has to be used on firefox only. Some frequencies you may not hear.

The oil pulling I have not used. I know peeps who do and swear by it.

The regrowing teeth I have not tried as of yet. I dont need this. But I find it rather awesome.

but id like to shasre some info, in regards to diet and research on tooth remineralistion, stopping abcesses, pain etc and also the damage dentists do.

The guy presenting this isnt a dentist but give it a shot..yes hes selling a book, but most of the infos in this vid, if you look around theres a lot on tooth remineralisation on youtube and the net.

you may still need a dentist...but just watch, they tell us teeth cant heal like bones, well maybe they can...ive changed my own diet dramatically because of this vid.

you can find a lot of Ramiels research and his other vids online,theres enough info(and good info at that)to be able to adjust things at least to stop the pain and maybe stop a developing abcess.

it will be hard if you say its decaying under the filling, but unless its abcessed,id think theres still hope to save the tooth(especially seeing as its one of your front teeth).

well, it hasnt abscessed yet, and is only partially dead so far, so, im assuming it would have to get to that point before it really became an issue in that regard. hence, once it is actually fully dead, and thus abscesses.. i would assume?

either way.. im not gonna mess with it. if i cant get the root canal somehow, and before that things go awry, i wont hesitate having it pulled. of course after being on an antibiotic beforehand, cos, removing it while an active abcsess is there.. could shove it right in the bloodstream directly in a matter of mins, so ya gotta get it tamed before doing so.

is it just one place called dentalinsurance or just a general dental insurance, you mean? wouldnt there be a wait, though? or some crazy screening process?

this is good, especially in preventions for future issues.. as i have VERY thin enamel and bad hereditary dental things...

yeah, i saw that earlier. they only accept so many per month and it can only be what they are currently studying, i guess, and you go thru a screening process. i left a message with them this afternoon.

yeah, there seems to be only one dental school here, in terms of dentists (not hygienists, techs, etc.). its weird.

well, the tooth is badly weakened anyway from the filling... i can see it breaking during or after the root canal. the filling is so badly done, that it in itself would probably crack the thing. its like globbed on and irregularly shaped oddly. cant explain it.

so, my question is... if i did get it pulled... and later get an implant.. do they have the kinds that dont costs thousands of dollars?? i have an older lady friend, who is like almost 80... and she had her front tooth pulled back in the late 70s she said, and they replaced it with a fake tooth that looks exactly like a real tooth, and i didnt even know till i talked to her today. anyways, the way they did it was, they wired it in where the wire connects it to the other two teeth around the gap, and the wire runs behind the teeth, so you dont even see it, and its never been replaced since, and is still going strong. i was shocked cos i thought they didnt do that as permanents, only removable single dentures. so, is this like a thing they actually still do these days???

or are there other options to like removable implant type things? removeable fake tooth? just one, that doesnt require some weird and expensive surgery to accomodate it??

I have not read all the replies to your post. Coming from someone with horrible teeth, if a filling is big enough sometimes the root dies. No rhyme or reason why. If you had silver fillings in that tooth, the silver acts like a wedge every time you bite down, driving down into the tooth often causing hairline cracks in the teeth. Sugar gets into that crack and underneath the silver and you have a new cavity. I am just saying the dentist will not compensate you at all. You could ask him for a discount but do you want him working on your teeth again? I have 1 bridge and 7 crowns. Getting the rest of my big fillings crowned next spring.

oh and yeah, i called the dentist's office, who originally did the fillings, and i told them exactly whats going on and what the other dentists said, and i asked them... would it be possible that he could correct the tooth, ie, root canal and clean out that old filling and decay, for free or a very reduced affordable price.. since, well, he did cause the problem.. but i said it in a nicer way... but, the office lady asked him, and she called back and said he refuses to do it, and then said that he will not fix it because its my fault now, he says, because back in november when i complained about the tooth after the filling, he said id need a root canal and i refused to get one back then. when the real story was... after i got the filling, my tooth hurt like hell.. and it never did previously.. till after that filling and the filling was all globbed out and looked really bad, and it felt like an air pocket in there... cos it would depress when i pressed on it.. and it felt like trapped painful air when i did so. and it made all my other teeth hurt. so, i was wondering if he even drilled cos, i was all numbed up on that side cos he was doing a couple fillings on that side on the bottom teeth so he decided to do the canine tooth while we were there. so, i went back in a couple days later... i went back, i said the filling is weird, it looks huge and a mess and its uncomfrtable. and he says "strange... it shouldnt be hurting since i didnt even drill on that tooth..." i asked him why.. and he said "because if i drilled into it, it wold go into your pulp" FUNNY... COS BEFORE THAT HE TOLD ME IT WAS A VERY MINOR CAVITY AND A SURFACE TYPE YELLLOW CAVITY AND WOULDNT EVEN NEED ANY EXTRA NOVACAINE, COS IT WAS A VERY SIMPLE PROCESS AND NOT EVEN DEEP. HA. so he did an xray and said "the tooth looks fine.. no sign of infection, no pulpal damage.. and etc", and i saw the xray, it looked fine. so, he went and jumped dinto saying, "well if it hurts or any weird sensation.. lets do a root canal anyway...." UHHH... so i told him, no, i didnt wanna do a root canal on a tooth that was fine.. and not damaged, and was otherwise pulpally healthy. why couldnt he just redo the filling. so, he said he couldnt do that cos now it would be required to drill too deep in there and it would kill my pulp.

so, he gave me a referral to another doctor... a specialist and to get a second opinion and then if they said get a root canal just cos it hurt occasionally (it subsided on and off after those 2 days) then i cold come back to him and get it done cos "it would be cheaper". he just pushes root canals. and on people who have NO insurance or means of paying 2000 dollars out of pocket. thats nuts! so, i have a coworker whos mom in law had a bad experience with the same dentist.. same kinda thing... left her in agony, etc. read numerous reports online of him doing and suggesting out the ass root canals on teeth that didnt actually need one and also doing badly done fillings. like really bad jobs at it. he just.. globs it on the tooth and doesnt care and tries taking on 10 patients at a time... and only spends like 2 mins with each patient... and leaves in the middle of doing fillings to go tend to another patient having work done and im like wtf?????? thats not good business at all. wtf.

so, also, back a month after that.. in november.. this would be before christmas time... my toothache came back and i called for an antibiotic and he refused to give me one unless i agreed to get a root canal, or actually i think it was said until after i get the root canal.... firstly, thats messing with health and endangering a patient there. cos as far as he knew, i cold have had a bad infection. not even if i went in to see him.. i had to have the root canal.
