Now why do retards say addiction is a disease? I had a FB argument with a girl the other day who tried to convince me that it was literally NOT POSSIBLE to quit heroine without a 12 step program. These people are weak minded fools with no self control. Addiction doesn't exist. Everyone who likes something will attempt to repeat that action. It is human nature, not disease. All it takes is self control. Literally. I mean what stops anyone from not doing something, self control, and nothing else. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34249989 Lol you're right. The ability to quit anything resides in one's heart. Twelve step is more of a hindrance to full recovery than anything. I wouldn't call them weak minded though, more misguided and that's not their fault. Edit to add the physical withdrawls are very real for certain drugs, particularly opiates and more extremely from long term benzodiazapine abuse. Try it then come back and have a chat. |

No physical withdrawals or discomfort to report. I feel just fine. I'm taking a break for the forseeable future because it's gotten too expensive to buy and too difficult to find quality product. If/when circumstances change, I'll reconsider my options... |

Have you ever taken large dosages of oxycontin & oxycodone following a major surgery or injury - for pain management? The body develops a hell of a physical dependency to that drug. I ingested those painkillers exactly as my doctor prescribed and even after I weened down to the smallest dosages possible - quitting still produced 3 weeks of nearly unbearable withdrawal symptoms and discomfort. I got to the point where you could not get any sleep and your body felt so out of balance that you just wanted to consume those pills so you could restore 'balance' and feel normal enough to get some sleep.... Anti-depressants and psychotropic drugs can produce very strong physical dependencies as well. On the flip side I have never had any problems quitting cannabis, cigarettes, or alcohol... But I can see how some peole might, particularly with regards to tobacco (nicotine) and alcohol (if they're heavy users). |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15988211 ^ This... if your "addicted" to weed your a sad sad person who needs self control.. no, you are the sad person for making blanket arrogant pronouncements about others regarding something which you don't understand. you are the kind that is satisfied to judge the world purely by your own experience. If something is not real to you then its not real at all. This is sort of like doctors who tell chronic auto-immune patients that its all in their heads. The word ignoramus comes to mind. |

You are the only creature in the entire Universe who has free will. You are the only one who has to figure out what to do next--and why. Everybody else is a robot, a machine. Easy! User ID: 45488896 Canada 08/21/2013 10:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Your body craves the herb! Your mind buckles to it! Just say no! It's as easy as that! My job requires that I piss for drugs and booze before every job and when shit happens. I'm in the oil and gas business and a wise old timer told me once is that we all have choices in life. Smoke a joint or make 10K a month! Well I chose the latter. Sadly money rules our lives. Mind you that 10K comes at 60 hours a week of hard work! It's the same with cigarettes, tell your body that your mind is in control and then control your mind. It's easier then you think. Good luck! I don't think it's wrong to puff, a personal choice like booze and cigarettes. I say make it all legal, but if you cheat and steal for it then JAIL! |

JustinSider User ID: 45432618 United States 08/22/2013 12:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ive been having a semi hard time quitting. I went from smoking 8-10 bowls a day, to smoking 2 times a week. and i am having a hard time getting rid of it all together. Something that helped was getting rid of all of my pieces. I smashed a few and gave a few away. This made it harder to smoke, so i just avoid doing it, unless a friend asks me to blaze a J. :D Guilty: is what our graves will read, no year no family. We did nothing, to stop the murder of people just like us.. |
