As a society, have we gone to far with sex?
There was once a time when a woman showing her ankles was a promiscuous act...now look at us. And I don't mean just the fact that half the internet is porn or all the people going to the bars and trying to get laid....

What I mean is, have we, as a society, damaged our culture sexually?

Sex isn't used for it's natural purposes anymore:

The cosmetics industry works because lipstick and blush mimic the flushed sexual response of increased blood flow during sexual arousal, therefore the subconscious mind responds on a sexual level, therefore creating a false sexual connection/attraction where there is none naturally.

Beer gets sold because theres a hot girl in the ad, therefore your mind anchors beer to sex, and the next time you buy a beer, your sex drive prompts you to want the beer you saw in the ad.

Sex is promoted everywhere to the masses at all times...its inescapeable.

People now shop for dates on dating sites like they used to shop a sears catalogue.

People go practically naked on the beach, cities flaunt gay pride parades...I even read a thread on here that sears now sells books about beastiality.

The dovorce rate is over 50%, abortion and ilegitamate children are rampant, and the traditional family is disintegrating. Kids are raised now not by a dad and a mom but by televisions, the internet, state institutions like schools, or the streets.

We have a generation that in my opinion has lost the gift of experiencing love and sex in a single bond. Sex has become a tool, a method of power, a way to get things...not a vehicle for the expression of love...in far too many peoples lives now.

You cant have love if you cant have trust and intimacy.

How can you have trust and intimacy if you or your partner's sexual responses are falsified or are manipulate daily?

...Perhaps thats the real reason there are so many unhappy marriages now and so much divorce? Maybe its because we have all been rewired sexually by the culture around us? Hell, most people on here probably spend more time having intercourse with a computer than they do a live human being.

We've become a society of lusters, not lovers. I think we may have lost something special and sacred in the process....

Maybe so. It does seem like there isn't as much genuine love existing these days.....

Everyone has their own hidden agendas when it comes to interaction now...

Whether it be for the pleasure, money, or social status..
We're so shallow.

I think love is important. I hope that everyone someday may be able to feel unconditional love, cause it's honestly great.

I think you are right. It's late and I was just about to go to bed so I can't input much of a response right now but it's very refreshing to see that someone else out there gets it. I've felt the same way you do for a long time but most people I come across just don't grasp that and resort to calling names like prude. People are so blind and misguided these days. Also, sex has lost a mystique/reverence it once had and I can imagine that many partnerships suffer because of it. They just don't know it because they never knew any different I guess.

The people that have known me my entire life will sit down for three hours to stuff their face, but they won't sit down for an hour and talk with me. Or take me fishing during national fishing week. They'll spend time going out to get their son a phone that he doesn't need that he doesn't deserve, but they won't spend ten minutes to come and check on me, knowing full well that I don't have anyone else in my life to love me. The traditional family has disintegrated. Even my great aunt who is only a province away won't send me an email to ask how I'm feeling. At least there's cats.

Re: As a society, have we gone to far with sex?
Belly Dancing is not a modern invention.. which seems far removed from the prudish notions pushed by Puritans.

If you roll it back to Lollard Christians in the late 1300s you'll see the same complaints about sex and abortion.. Their 12 conclusions where presented to parliament and nailed to St Pauls Cross..

The Eleventh Conclusion is pretty much an anti-abortion citing it as the most horrible sin.

[link to www.courses.fas.harvard.edu]

(if you read through, you'll also see they are anti-war, 10th conclusion :) )

If you roll it back further, Pelagian Christians made the same comments about Rome in 400s..

And roll it back further the same comments where made about Sodom :)

Seems pretty conclusive that you're not alone, and that the same things have been said all the way down the ages..

But it seems to me in general, it is human nature to have fun, get drunk and be as naughty as possible :)

For some perspective you need to read some history. The end of the Roman Empire was far worse than even now. Child sex slaves, orgies, and other far worse acts were regular entertainment for Rome. Look into Caligula. We are still Puritans in America.

History is a lie.

We are in time loop.

All the events set in motion are heading towards a single date in the future 2093.

Basically, if we qualify, we will evolve to the next stage and meet the entities involved in trapping us in the time loop.

If we don't qualify, we start back from square one - the stone age.

So because there were societies more immoral than ours in the past, we don't need to address our current situation? We don't judge our need to act on a problem based on its relative severity in history.

Re: As a society, have we gone to far with sex?
this was engineered
beginning with the subjugation of women (thanks religion!)
the degradation of all that is feminine is the natural result of creating a dominant/submissive paradigm between the sexes
respect is lost for the women by men AND by women themselves
those who didn't go along with this paradigm were tortured and burned
then, later, were given the controlled opposition movement aka "feminism" which further degraded the divine feminine

Most people grow out of it, cause we arent lookers forever.. Theres world exploration, sprituality, travel. social times and good food.

Other perverts however never grow up. They are the nerds who hate not getting the hot girl in high school so they become CEOs of companies and get to live out and push their unfufilled fantasies. Hetero, or gay, they will push their drooling agendas, like teen bikini girls with the lower bikini pushed as low as it goes and getting full ads every sunday.

Those who have been there, done that, I had a wild and satisfying sex life. EVENTUALLY grow out of it and start getting interested in other things. I still need sex, but its a private thing and no one has to know my bedroom life.

I feel sorry for the losers that have to live out their fantasies to the end. Knew of one marketer who got caught abusing his own kids.

It's how much you want to be a beast, literally.... as opposed to being a human, or even better than that....yes, the potential is unrealized.

In the past, people also were hung in the streets for vultures to feed on. If you pissed someone off, they could just slay you, and vice versa. Dog eat dog.

You prefer this type of world? Where base desires rule?

I 100% don't believe that small bathing suits and beer commercials contribute to divorce. Even if it did...who cares? Divorce isn't the end of the world. Only frightened Bible-jockeys maintain that idea.

Get off your high horse and stop telling everyone what to wear, think, and do.

Yeah, homosexuality was also a very large part of their society, totally accepted, and done everywhere. So that orgy would not be a straight one at all.
