Christians are in the many in Holland and im also talking big city's. 70% of most churches? What does that mean? 70% of 70%? Overall, there is a major decline of religious adherence. Over the past years hundreds of churches in the Netherlands have been torn down or transformed to houses or party centers. I live in the Hague and I can tell you, Christians are a dying breed, especially in the big cities. And a large majority of people who say they are religious almost never or never to to church. The only aspect with regard to religion and youth is that we see an increase in radicalism. The religious youth of today is more radical than ever before. |

Thank God their kids founnd Jesus and got stuff on the right track. Dont want to preach though; OT; that the Netherlands is becomming a super power is nonsense. It always has been a super power behind the scenes and im not talking our politics but our Royalty. Our Royalty is the oldest bloodline and the most powerfulll in the world. That will work. lOl be it as it may. in the near future you will look back and think to your self, geert wilders was right. and why do you say "so called islamisation" do you think that isnt whats happening? lol The problems that we have in the Netherlands have more to do with the Moroccan culture than the fact they are Islamic. While they see themselves as Muslims, they steal, drink, smoke weed, go to or have prostitutes, and the majority have never read one page of the Qu'ran. The second generation of Turks in the Netherlands on the other hand, who are obviously also Muslim, are much better adapted to the Dutch culture. Don't get me wrong. I do not support Islam at all. From all the nonsense religions that one should be the first to go. And while being a Muslim in the Netherlands brings nothing constructive to the table, the core of the problems we experience over here are not to be directly attributed to Islam. Finally, Geert Wilders is a story on it's own. He is an excellent debater, his political marketing strategies are unseen in the Netherlands and he has an underbelly feeling hook. But at the same time I could write extensively about everything what is wrong with him, his motives, where the funding is coming from, involvement of the extreme right to set up the party, the members of his current party, his party program, and much more. The only reason why people like him, is because he is speaking out against Islam and stop listening after that. The people have put faith in him, and have put him in a position to influence the coalition and he missed up royally. I would be surprised if he would maintain the same amount of votes the next election in a couple of months. Fun facts: Statistically, the people who voted for Wilders last time were the lower educated people. Also, the majority of the people who voted for him, live in areas where there are hardly any Muslims and only know what they see on TV. The least votes came from the big cities where most of the Muslims live. Last Edited by Psych on 07/17/2012 02:45 PM |

But an increasing amount of that small minority that are religious have very strong convictions. Spirituality is a different and broad subject. It is such an abstract term that it is hard to give a straight answer to it. But to highlight one point, and I am not speaking for the youth in the Netherlands but me and a lot of my friends are leaning towards Buddhist philosophy. Not saying that we are Buddhists but if you want to put labels on it, that would probably be the closest you could get. |
