Any FL Studio 10 users? DAW's,VST's, and Sample Packs
So I got FL Studio 10 about 2 weeks ago and so far I really like it. But I have seen Cakewalk roll out there Sonar X1 and was wondering if anyone here has experiance with FL,Sonar, or Ableton Live? And if so which do you prefer?

Edit: Please add your favorite DAW's, VST Pugins, your favorite Sample packs, Tutorials, and links to your own shit!

Glad you liked it OP, but you really should learn a more pro DAW so you can run FL in a slave mode through it or run your sounds through good external gear. FL has a very distinguishable and a bit amateurish sound. Ableton has a far better and advanced sound engine, but is has a distinguishable compressed sound too, not as FL though. For the DAW's you mention i use Ableton some times in a slave mode to Logic Pro, tt's far better to get your initial idea running with it, but always do the serious stuff in Logic, Pro Tools and outboard stuff. What kind of music you are interested in producing?

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard great things about Logic Pro. I am currently into Electronica/Dub but your right FL seems to sound a bit amateurish. It also seems to have problems when I layer 3x OSC, and will glitch out when I have multiple complex patterns running. I just got the Z3ta+2 plugin and am having problems with that as well. So I'm guessing I need to Slave it as you said through a more professional DAW. What would you recomend for this type of music? Again thanks for the reply!

Logic pro on a mac and Nuendo/cubase on a pc would be my choice for the master DAW. A proper Pro Tools system is far more expensive for now. You can use all the other ones in rewire/slave mode and get flavors from all the other sources(FL/Ableton) you have. FL is buggy with external plugins and the audio support is a bit of a joke too. You'll need a daw with good audio support for this kind of music coz you ll have lots of FX returns and stuff. Z3ta is a good vst, but my best suggestion/advice is to a learn a sampler vst very good so you can manipulate the sound to your desires, especially for original dub stuff you gonna need a good sampler and some good samples and loops. All proper daws have a good sampler but imho the Ableton sampler is the best. Regarding vst's have a look at the Trillian Bass and Omnishpere from Spectrasonics. They are expensive as fuck i know, but you won't need another vst purchase anytime in the future and the quality of the sounds is the best you can get in the market imho for countless music genres, download the demos for a start you won't get disappointed, best purchases i've ever made.

I use fl with all the packs, plug ins etc, not as good as ableton but it is good. I'm producing heavy metal and blues, and haven't had any problems layering, mixing, or mastering.

You need LFOs that clock to MIDI for dubstep, and a real Roland space echo for dub. I use Logic 8, but without a decent audio interface it sounds crap !
Consider buying some height of the last tech wave, it's cheap, and has the character you'll be busy trying to recapture once you suss everything on the DAW is going through the same interface..
