I'm wondering if the animals can sense it or not.
Quoting: HnryBwmn Every now and then the cats refuse to drink the milk purchased here (US). I suspect they can sense it as well. I usually purchase two gallons at a time. They have refused one while accepting the other. Now, I use them to test anything I buy that they like. If they won't eat it, neither will I.  Brillant! Some use chickens to see if the corn is GMO. If the chickens don't eat it neither will they. .
