Anonymous Coward User ID: 18835047 United States 07/18/2012 04:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think I'm right, here. Bubonic plague comes from bacteria Y. Pestis, propagates through the lymphatic system (there are lymph nodes under the arm). Symptoms include abdominal pain, tiny broken blood vessels (which could look like a rash), nausea, vomiting, etc. But, incubation is longer than 2 days, so he probably came in contact with the bacteria somewhere else on about July 7th, and only got ill on the 9th in California. It's sad, but also not a huge concern for others unless his family also ends up getting it from being around him. Airborne transmission is bad. |

Most don't kill that quickly. The real shock will be if the SHTF and a lack of a supply chain of routine antibiotics and a means of getting them to those that need them. There are tons of scary scenarios like that. |

I think the armpit thing was just a sign that it was in his bloodstream already. Still, very sad. |

KoFFee_ (OP) User ID: 1373078 United States 07/18/2012 08:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good Morning, BB While I was looking at the West Nile Virus "epidemic" in Texas, that article came across my path. Sad and mystifying!!! Do you think it had a connection to his swim? However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 "This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7 |

CAMP PENDLETON: Doctors unsure what caused visiting Texas boy's death "He was sitting down and just hanging out with everybody, just having family time," Niko said. "He had been throwing up earlier in the day, and it just seemed like he was getting worse and worse. He wasn't feeling well at all, and he wasn't really responsive." I think of how often we parents kind of poo-poo symptoms in our kids, and say "it's probably just the potato salad", etc. These poor people will live with the freakish reality that this one time it WAS something very serious. You can never know when the one-in-a-million incident will happen, you just do your best. So sad. |
