Veto what? It does not matter anymore. Face the facts, Assad is all but gone at this point. There is no turning back. The wildcard is chemical weapons, which if used, will instantly involve NATO intervention, and Russia will not intervene. I'm more worried about a nuclear response to a chemical attack Nuclear response? Oh sorry Godzilla, I was referring to limited chemical attacks within Damascus by Assad against the FSA build-ups. I would agree that if chemical attacks involved another country, that could lead to the situation quickly spiraling out of control, however as in Egypt and Libya, I doubt this will take place. |

That would really get all the bible nuts going. |

An attack on the Syrian people with a WMD would not be in Israel's interest. It would make things worse. |

I suppose at this point, best case scenario, Assad is gone and Syria transitions towards some type of democratic replacement, and Russia steps back. Worst case, Russian boots on the ground to protect Assad's regime. |

I'm hoping for the latter... Quoting: Doom Lover best case scenario, Assad falls much like Gaddafi or Saddam, stability is brough to the strategic situation Worse case, he manages to fire off a volley at Israel and starts a regional conflict that may end with some serious numbers of dead on both sides. |

Russian troops on the ground, has about a 1% chance of actually happening. Remember how Russia had it's ass kicked in Afghanistan? Do they really want to play that game again in Syria? I doubt it. Proxy wars are long and difficult, and one in which Russia will lose. |

If the vice-president fled to Jordan and the Prime Minister and this Assistant Vice president are dead..... Who else is there but Assad? I'm asking because I didn't know they had an assistant vice prez. Do they also have an asst PM? |

This is terrible... the karma is going to come and bite the ass of America big time. Hillary is probably sitting in front of that tv screen ready and waiting. God help us all. Why is this terrible? You feel terrible that a repressive regime is being overthrown? Freedom comes with a price, and this is just the beginning. The freedom and democracy excuse is BS. Syria was peaceful, as was Libya. In both countries the people were fairly well off and living in safety. They may be Muslims for the most part, but they weren't bothering anyone. |
