Pan the new Batman flick at your own risk.

A handful high-profile movie critics have received death threats for giving negative reviews for "The Dark Knight Rises."

The critics include Marshall Fine of the website Hollywood and Fine, and Associated Press's Christy Lemire. Their negative reviews tarnished the film's 100 percent approval rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and because the death threats were made there, the site has suspended user comments on the film for the first time in its history.

The site's editor-in-chief said "It just got to be too much hate based on reactions to reviews of a movie that people hadn't even seen."

There was immediately speculation that the death threats are the work of extreme conservatives because on Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh called the new Batman a liberal hit job against Romney because they named the evil character Bane.
