Hey, like we all need a day off once in a while. Went with GF to Silver Dollar City, an amusement park in the Ozarks. Rode some roller coasters.

"Powder Keg", Huge rush. Roler coaster that blasts you from still to like 40 mph in .75 seconds, or so it feels.
up the first rise to drop face first 150' or so.....

Re: What did you do to Prep today?
If you have a tooth ache, bite down on a clove of fresh garlic. It will kill the bacteria that is irritating the nerve (Cranial Nerve 5 Trigeminal). It'll buy you some time. Everyone should have this in their preps. 'Hurts like a son of a gun though. You'll give a yelp.

Tooth decay is implicated in heart disease. Staph mutans is the culprit. Keep brushing when the collapse comes.

We'll have few common natural tools. The other is soldier's plant (common plantain or Plantago major) [link to en.wikipedia.org]
Stops bleeding and is a minor pain reliever.

I've cut back in numbers and calibers drastically. Down to "what I can carry".

Mine are due for a good scrubbing also.

When buying rice ALWAYS try to find the source.
Khinae is now making plastic white rice, looks like the real stuff but has no nutrition.

I love all these preppers that buy barley, beans and other grains but have never cooked anything with it in their regular day to day.

I actually enjoy bean soups but I want to see all these A hole s with bucket of beans trying to figure out how to cook them

Beans take a while to cook which means burning a lot fuel and I bet preppers don't think about that.

When cooking beans to reduce cook time and improve taste soak them over night in water with salt and spices

Important trick. I love beans but the dang things take 36 hours to cook and about 8 gallons of propane per gallon of beans. Soak 'em, only way.

Re: What did you do to Prep today?
As part of your prepper threat I like to add in regards to storing food you should not just store food but rotated it int your regular diet.

Here are the reasons why
You will have fresher stock
You will learn to cook your emergency food
You will get used to it and not get the runs when SHTF if you are not used to eating it.
You will not throw money way by letting good food spoil

Re: What did you do to Prep today?
Walked 3 miles in 90 degree heat with a 20 pound pack on my back. I walked slowly, but steady.

It's not how far you walk, it's how long you walk.

I'm going to try for 5 miles in August and increase the pack to 25 pounds. Walking four times a week.

I disagree you need to be able to have a variety of training and Sprint, run, Walk/Run. and be able to do this up or downhill

Think Zombies chasing you. Most militarys train this way they have run, heavy pack marches, walk/runs, Jog

It takes time to understand my sarcastic humor.

I have about 6 pressure cookers now.

I want one of those high dollar deluxe giant monsters that Texas girl gave a link to.

Then I can justify a garden 3X as big and 4 more wives.....
just to help with the canning of course......banana2

As part of your prepping get yourself an inversion table to decompress your discs. Otherwise all the prepping in the world is not gonna do anything if you can't move.

You can find them used for cheap on craiglist.

You can also search herniated disc on GLP for cures

Haven't made it out to my 5th wheel trailer yet, that's where my Grav boots and a setup to hang are.

I need to mix up some DMSO and glucosamine/condroitin to apply after.
Feeling a bit better.
Been beating myself up for over 2 months in the garden, working on the quad and big yard mower.

Time to coast for a bit.
