X Marks the Spot
An X-2 class solar flare recently missed a direct impact with Earth.

Heliophysicists classify solar flares according to their brightness in X-ray wavelengths. C-class flares are the smallest on the scale, with X-ray measurements in the 10^-6 watts per square meter range (W/m^2), while X-class flares can exceed 10^-4 W/m^2. Why is that important?

An X-2 solar flare has enough energy to overload satellite circuits and disrupt other forms of communication should its full force be directed at Earth.

Modern astronomers believe that solar flares, or coronal mass ejections (CME), occur when magnetic reconnection events in the Sun’s atmosphere cause a short circuit in magnetic field lines. According to one theory, “magnetic energy” then accelerates the superheated gases into space. Although no one knows what “magnetic reconnection” is, it is the only explanation offered................

Astronomers Using the Hubble Space Telescope Report the Earliest Spiral Galaxy Ever Seen
ScienceDaily (July 18, 2012)

"Current wisdom holds that such 'grand-design' spiral galaxies simply didn't exist at such an early time in the history of the universe." Thread: Electronic dead zones appearing.

[link to www.thisissomerset.co.uk]

A group of householders started being hit by mysterious electronic interference on July 7 – and it was driving them to distraction, or it would have done if they could get their cars started. When Keith Gadd called Toyota for advice, he ended up locked in his own car for five minutes with the alarm screaming.

And he had to push his car six feet outside the deadzone until it turned itself on.

Peter Bould was the first person to spot the forcefield when his Land Rover Discovery it wouldn’t unlock. At first he thought it was the batteries in his key fob, but his wife’s Ford Fiesta wouldn’t unlock either. Eventually they got in and drove to town, where the car locks and alarms all operated correctly.

The solar powered unit was pumping out a rogue signal that affected some, but not all, cars for 100 metres in any direction.

With the batteries removed from the unit, all the cars in the area are miraculously able to burst into life.

Just last week a group of scientists at CERN -- the European Organization for Nuclear Research -- which houses the Hadron Collider that discovered the Higgs boson, set the God particle to music.

Since you can't experience the Higgs boson firsthand, the scientists thought it'd be cool to form music notation out of the data, and apparently the particle that may have produced the universe as we know it (or not) sounds like a snazzy piano tune.

CERN is dedicated to bringing artists from around the world to the headquarters.

"Particle physics and the arts are inextricably linked," their mission states. "Both are ways to explore our existence – what it is to be human and our place in the universe."

In the coming months, as part of CERN's other artist residency projects, there will be seminars and presentations from photographers, digital artists, filmmakers and sculptors.

According to Wilber, the Twenty Tenets are an attempt to summarize and draw some basic conclusions from dynamic systems theory and the contemporary evolutionary sciences. Calling them "tendencies of evolution" or "propensities of manifestation," the Twenty Tenets operate throughout the three great domains of evolution: the physiosphere, the biosphere, and the noosphere (or matter, life, and mind).

Ken Wilber’s Twenty Tenets are:

1. Reality is not composed of things or processes, but of holons, which are wholes that are simultaneously parts.

2. Holons display four fundamental capacities:
a. self-preservation (agency)
b. self-adaptation (communion)
c. self-transcendence
d. self-dissolution

3. Holons emerge.

4. Holons emerge holarchically.

5. Each holon transcends and includes its predecessors.

6. The lower sets the possibilities of the higher; the higher sets the probabilities of the lower.

7. The number of levels which a hierarchy comprises determines whether it is ‘shallow’ or ‘deep;’ and the number of holons on any given level we shall call its ‘span.’

8. Each successive level of evolution produces greater depth and less span.

9. Destroy any type of holon, and you will destroy all of the holons above it and none of the holons below it.

10. Holarchies co-evolve. The micro is always within the macro (all agency is agency in communion).

11. The micro is in relational exchange with macro at all levels of its depth.

12. Evolution has directionality:
a. increasing complexity.
b. increasing differentiation/integration.
c. increasing organization/structuration.
d. increasing relative autonomy.
e. increasing telos.

it seems i connected to the units within the structure so felt through the "membrane" as if it was not there
