It was in regard to how specific scents or taste can essentially cause a form of 'time travel' within memory. Propelling one backward into a clear moment of time. So clear in fact, as to almost re-live it.

I offered up the Anton vid for example.


I thought his child being young, could explore this idea with a uncommon scents of adulthood vs childhood but which is often common to both.

For example the smell of playdough or crayons.

Definitely, But children often react/answer with that they deem to be the desired response. They have little use for defining nuance as their sense of time is limitless.

As they don't define themselves with moments measured against one another.

It was more for the adults than the child. Just something which would add a little novelty to what they had seen before.

I was chasing away boredom at the time. Passing the time in between.

that's a good one..I have a distinct recollection of the scent of purple pez..I associate a time period with it, certain emotions/sensations, and sometimes even pick up the scent on the air when a storm is coming..lol very odd.

Yes well...many keep things to themselves.

Especially, if it presses against preconceived notions or causes one to feel vulnerable to ridicule. With something of such a personal nature, even those closest to you may may turn a deaf ear.

Interesting this comes up, as I recently have been describing the one I recall with most detail to a close friend, who pops in on my thread with some frequency.
