Ahh yes lol spent my first official Mardi Gras in New Orleans... and well remember getting way layed on the way to the porta potty with a friend at Jazz fest by an offer of a sweet aroma and herb and a long enlightening conversation ensued. Things you can learn by listening to strangers willing to share :) LOL

My family never understood why I went to night school and summer school to graduate early( graduated two weeks after turning 17 in summer school even after spending a week in the hospital for a blood clot and caught up). I was very smart and then life got in the way and was wrought with physical labor. Then mid life I realized it was not that that made me happy but learning and exploring the boundaries that I could intellectually breech with the mind.
If one suppresses those urges it leads to depression I have found to keep the mind within a certain cage of sorts if that be its yearning but not all are made along those lines

I can understand why...due to what you have mentioned in the past.

Personally, I had no desire to 'grow up'. My mother found me crying in my room when I turned 10.

She asked me, "why are you crying, it's your birthday?"

I said to her, I just turned double digits, and I am that much closer to having your life...

Being 10, I expressed myself the best way I knew how, however harsh it sounded to my wonderful mother at time.

What I meant was, that I saw no escape from the 9-5 slavery which I thought awaited me.

And I certainly experienced said for years after.

I enjoyed some of my jobs, but I never felt like I was 'doing what I Could do'...

I still don't.

But feel like I am getting there...

Seer I never got to experience the Joy of childhood. When I was 9 I babysat my little two year old brother while my mother worked nights. Then my dad kidnapped him , after that my mother went to school during the day and I got to spend 30 minutes with her after school and then spent my nights alone. Didn't have my first real friend til the age of 12 and we are still friends to this day :) that I am thankful for. But I do feel that grace was extended to me in times of great need and that every instance of hurt pain or tragedy had a purpose in my life. I can certainly empathize with certain people and things they have gone thru and am so personally glad that whoever or whatever did not let me fall into that trap of bitterness.
The one thing I wish for myself the most would be to be able to fully go back to that inner childlike innocence of joy and wonder at all that is around, not that I do not have glimpse's of it but its not as it should have been. But I do know that the Mother and Father of the Universe have been there for me unequivocally and watched over me.

Grace under pressure LOL.. grasping and pulling oneself up out of the mire and shining with gratitude at all their is.

Think we mentioned that before about using the victim mode in this thread that it has backsliding consequences. I prefer the term overcome when having looked back on my life.

I have worked two jobs at once before just to provide for my two sons who I raised on my own and am so proud of the young men that they are . That has been my greatest job so far , Motherhood.

“Out of this war, the greatest since the beginning of history, a new world must be born, a world that would justify the sacrifices offered by humanity. This new world must be a world in which there shall be no exploitation of the weak by the strong, of the good by the evil; where there will be no humiliation of the poor by the violence of the rich; where the products of intellect, science and art will serve society for the betterment and beautification of life, and not the individuals for achieving wealth. This new world shall not be a world of the downtrodden and humiliated, but of free men and women and free nations, equal in dignity and respect for Mankind and Nature.”

Re: X Marks the Spot
Went to a source and found slow ants

Down at a well, they were speeding, frantically so

Water tables, hidden
Rising and falling within

But a source not always a deep water be
As a spring blossoms eternal from the deep

Blood of life

Hidden pressures
Floating the air above

Went to a source and stood on soft ground

hmmm miry clay
