Re: X Marks the Spot
repeating patterns to fit habits formed from our belief in what the repeating patterns mean
 Quoting: aether

yes dion
we can take Pattern recognition (psychology) application right back to here:

Perhaps the most accomplished analyst of mythology in modern times was the late Mircea Eliade, chairman of the Department of History of Religions at the University of Chicago, and editor of the Encyclopedia of Religion. From his meticulous, lifelong survey of the subject, professor Eliade drew a stunning conclusion: literally every component of early civilizations--from religion to art and architecture--expressed symbolically the desire to recover and to re-live the lost Golden Age. That which symbolically transported the participant back to the First Time, the Golden Age, was sacred. That which did not was transient and mundane, of no interest.
 Quoting: observation

 Quoting: aether

we could say we are a planet in amnesia memorized by it`s own patterns from before we were in amnesia
 Quoting: aether

we are
simple as that

well done everyone tounge
 Quoting: aether

this brings us nicely up to date
a pattern is the visible sign of a process processing
the pattern is the visible impression the process forms whilst it is processing
thus for thousands of years we studied patterns and from there study we worked out what we believed must be the processes that caused the patterns we studied
this become our foundation for the cause of reality
the cause of the patterns that are reality

one day we went 150 miles up in the air and discovered the patterns were not the same
over the next 60 years until today we discovered that most familiar patterns vary from what we are used to seeing
many patterns are so different there is no matching process known
and
more patterns of unknown process are being discovered all the time

this led to the shocking conclusions that the process we believe cause the patterns here on earth are local patterns only thus the process must be local in their application too

thus all that we know is only relevant to within 150 miles of earth
after that distance
what we know
does not occur as we know it

It's probably the realization that Shamans have become synonymous with the lecture circuit or the welfare line and small black and white tv's.

Damn, is that why everything has gone hi def.

Morning people.
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

Had to go out to dinner with our small office (5 people) and big boss in from Atlanta last night.

Utterly and completely miserable. I am realizing how much I am changing over the last years. All they talked about was college football and basketball and other inane things. I think I said about 10 words in 2 hours. They don't see it, as I still involve myself, but I found myself in the worst mood when I got home.

I felt like this all night long gaah

I've been having similar feelings on a variety of situations

Actually a couple of months back I was so immersed into certain stuff that things like this started happening too commonly and in a more intense way. A few special days felt like 'Ima run away and meditate in a cave', lol!

Gladly it got better now (:
