On another note...

I have noticed a reoccurring theme over the last 5 or so days.

I nearly mentioned it yesterday and the day before but decided to let it go.

However, it is being persistent so I thought I would mention...

Turkey.

First church

The first church was known as the "Great Church"), or in Latin , because of its larger dimensions in comparison to the contemporary churches in the City. Inaugurated on 15 February 360 (during the reign of Constantius II) by the Arian bishop Eudoxius of Antioch, it was built next to the area where the imperial palace was being developed. The nearby Hagia Eirene ("Holy Peace") church was completed earlier and served as cathedral until the Hagia Sophia was completed. Both churches acted together as the principal churches of the Byzantine Empire.

The edifice was built as a traditional Latin colonnaded basilica with galleries and a wooden roof. It was preceded by an atrium. It was claimed to be one of the world's most outstanding monuments at the time .

what does it tell us in simple terms:

it tells that following nearly a 1000 years of experience the empire chose the name sophia to symbolize moral/social awareness but the religious fathers within the empire chose the name jesus to be the moral/social symbol

an invisible menace may pose an even greater danger. Istanbul sits squarely atop a geologic fault line. "There most definitely are seismic threats to Hagia Sophia, and they are great," says Stephen J. Kelley, a Chicago-based architect and engineer who consults on Byzantine churches in Turkey, the former Soviet Union and the Balkans. "One tremor and the whole thing could come falling down."
