Wow, I felt quite the opposite yesterday, but then I was not on the forum until last night and saw nothing to really stay up for. :-) but I see you feel more confident this morning. Glad you shook it off:-)

Peratt's simulation is wrong. He has tried to model the interactions between filaments, but did not correctly model the filaments themselves. Wrong initial conditions leads to wrong results.
Just look at any of these points : Where has he included the effects of Marklund convection in any of his filaments? Do his filaments even show how positive or negative charges flow relative to each other within a filament?

They, the mainstream, don’t talk much about the synchrotron signature anymore but here is a Google link [link to scholar.google.com] of papers mentioning “hot flow”, “non-thermal" (synchrotron emission), synchrotron losses etc with respect to Novae (“sudden brightening”).
They wouldn’t talk AT ALL regarding synchrotron emission in terms of stellar brightening as a result of a bit of enhanced ‘constriction’ with regard to a pulse of increased current density along the presence of twisted filaments (electric currents), but that is to be expected. Time and time again we've seen that modern astrophysical theory, which is quite distinct from Observational Astronomy, never reasons from an 'electrical perspective'. So, you will find that they are sometimes 'close' as with "recurring novae" but the conceptualizations/perspectives of what is happening are usually WAY off . For example, when they 'see' a Red Giant/White Dwarf 'matter dump' ("pulsed accretion") I usually 'see' pulsed 'arc discharging' between the two stars.
