Re: X Marks the Spot
Good morning aether.
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

High mass X-ray binaries trace the Milky Way's spiral arms
[link to sci.esa.int]

I'd like it if they could give us an accurate map of where those x-ray sources fit on our galactic map, especially in comparison to star forming regions. Their article leaves me skeptical, however. They've brought all their bad theories (black holes, redshift=velocity, galactic density waves,temperature-luminosity relationship, stellar ages)together in one article.
Basically, what I get out of it is this:
They "know" how the galaxy rotates in millions of years. They "know" how old these High mass X-ray binaries are,and where they think they formed. So they should be able to trace everything back in time, and find those High mass X-ray binaries back in the star forming regions. Sure enough, everything matches.
There is one more little detail. They just had to allow for the High mass X-ray binaries each getting an extra velocity kick in an unknown direction, and of an unknown magnitude. But that magnitude is "not too high"

Then, people who say that a magnetic field is only created by electricity currents are incorrect?

To add a thought; they may arise from the same process, and support each other. If that is true, then the more precise statement would be, where you find one you find the other.

Anyone know if there is a roundabout way to get past the block?

This will suck if I can't get on GLP during the daytime anymore.

Interesting that you should say that. My novel is going to center on a character who is descending into psychosis. I am going to draw on my experiences with it to give it some details that should make it realistic.

As my character descends into 'madness', he will be helped along by bizarre happenstances that consistently occur throughout the novel, thus reinforcing and shaping the character's evolving delusions.

You've read my thread of personal experiences, so you know there are plenty of strange experiences I have to draw on.

I have a rough sequence of events outlined for the story. About two pages of bullet points. But I haven't decided on how to begin it and how to end it yet. It's still being worked out in some dark corner of my mind.

The GLP server is changing. It's probably due to their new server.

Yeah. Not good. I'm kind of stuck in a catch 22. I can request them to review the site to clear the block. But then it might expose how much I am on GLP.

What I told at first was very vague...just a novel, yet you were able to sense the basic idea I had in mind...that I was going to draw heavily on personal experiences to write it.

Do you mean that because of this, it is possible that the story will manifest itself and possibly have some sort of success?

yes
it`s your motive that does it because it is true

you detect your own experiences ring true to others and you appear to have a meaning within your emotional experiences which you similarly detect will be interestingly beneficial for others to know about

yes
it seems writing it you explains it and this feels your most comfortable route at present because it satisfies all demands you feel obliged to acknowledge

Good morning everyone.

These server attacks are just obnoxious. What is the point?

For myself, I see an overweight man, sitting in the dark, with a grin on his face, feeling powerful to shut down GLP with a flick of his finger.

Reminds me a bit of this guy...but not as cool.
