symbol and sign by design
is the topic of today

i think you have made sense of it
it being one of a number of symbols you used to see a bigger picture of connectivity incorporating the realization that reality expressed in human social expression matches symbol and sign by design
and
what you are discovering is the origin of the design

and if you have not already confirmed to yourself you will confirm the following
no matter the station of a person whom recognizes the symbol and sign by design, they will never know the origin of the design
in fact those whose station permits decision of the origin of symbol and sign by design admit freely it was always there when they become aware
so
the good news is
in our era of discovery, the origin of design is known to those whom know the meaning of our recent discoveries
and
those whom know first are those furthest from the belief of tradition

This Gurdjieff?

yes, there is only one by that name.

I'm not familiar with his work..but it sounds like that movie The Village...

i haven't watched movies in over twenty years, but i find it odd that you compare a hollywood scifi thriller, with the works of a man who spent over sixty years of his life in order to help mankind get thru whatever is coming in our near future.

I'm a horrible movie addict...lol
You should watch it! I don't want to spoil it but the premise of the movie is about a man who wanted to give his family and friends an experience of a world that was better than the one he grew up in...it's a smaller scale than the real life works of Gurdjieff but it's why I found it similar.

So thanks for pointing him out...I'm finding the reading interesting so far!

i think holons:

A holon is a system (or phenomenon) which is an evolving self-organizing dissipative structure, composed of other holons, whose structures exist at a balance point between chaos and order. It is maintained by the throughput of matter–energy and information–entropy connected to other holons and is simultaneously a whole in and itself at the same time being nested within another holon and so is a part of something much larger than itself. Holons range in size from the smallest subatomic particles and strings, all the way up to the multiverse, comprising many universes. Individual humans, their societies and their cultures are intermediate level holons, created by the interaction of forces working upon us both top-down and bottom-up. On a non-physical level, words, ideas, sounds, emotions—everything that can be identified—is simultaneously part of something, and can be viewed as having parts of its own, similar to sign in regard of semiotics................

It was casting god in the image of technological man. God was like an engineer and a mathematician and the forms and purposes of things came from outside not from inside. When living organisms were thought of as organisms they possessed their own purposes, their own goal. What this revolution did was took the purposes and goals and shapes and forms , the designs, as they were called out of living organisms and put them outside nature into the mind of god"

with this in mind, if we wind our linear clocks back just a few hundred years to the knowing we still possess
which is that living organisms possess purpose, goals, shapes and form in keeping with the structure of their design
we can ask the question
what is the motive of their design
and again likening our universe to ourselves, whose image we know we are designed upon we can know this
our universe, like our self, functions 95% to 98% subconsciously . as in:
without thought

The exact number of cells in the human body is not known, although most estimates put the figure at somewhere between 50 and 75 trillion cells. There are some estimates that say there can be up to 100 trillion cells in the body.

 Quoting: observation

all of those cells and the shapes they form that sustain our self aware singular effect do so without our thinking about it
they all "know" what they are doing and do it because the singular effect (design) of our body forces them to function as they do

likewise our universe`s infinite material shapes that form and sustain our universe, including us, all know what they are doing because the singular effect (design) of our universe forces them to function as they do

what it feels like to experience the singular effect that is our universe only our universe knows
what we experience is it`s feeling of oneness on ocSick filthy pedo from Mainens because to itself it is a singular effect (emotion/personality) and we are part of it`s singular effect

Now stop hijacking something beautiful like the reality of what a REAL muse is and go back to finding yourself if you want to play nice.
 Quoting: ArunaLuna

I agree. Responsibility to be a muse is sometimes no laughing matter. Unless one identifies with Thalia of course. Taking responsibility for both inspiration as well as output: Oscillation between Mnemosyne (inspiration) and the individual muse (output), perhaps, a visual.

For example, we are reminded that poets called upon Mnemosyne to help them to avoid errors in reciting the sacred sagas learned in rote in preliterate cultures.
Avoiding errors, perhaps we can call that the act of discernment, in both input and output, was built into the very mythology of accessing memory.

Moving that sentiment into the realm of “natural collective unconscious” seems more fitting to thoughts of the universality of x marks the spot.

Jung distinguished the collective unconscious from the personal unconscious, in that the personal unconscious is a personal reservoir of experience unique to each individual, while the collective unconscious collects and organizes those personal experiences in a similar way with each member of a particular species.

Consciousness

Consciousness is the quality or state of being aware of an external object or something within oneself.
It has been defined as: subjectivity, awareness, the ability to experience or to feel, wakefulness, having a sense of selfhood, and the executive control system of the mind.

Despite the difficulty in definition, many philosophers believe that there is a broadly shared underlying intuition about what consciousness is.
As Max Velmans and Susan Schneider wrote in The Blackwell Companion to Consciousness: "Anything that we are aware of at a given moment forms part of our consciousness, making conscious experience at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives."

Philosophers since the time of Descartes and Locke have struggled to comprehend the nature of consciousness and pin down its essential properties. Issues of concern in the philosophy of consciousness include whether the concept is fundamentally valid; whether consciousness can ever be explained mechanistically; whether non-human consciousness exists and if so how it can be recognized; how consciousness relates to language; and whether it may ever be possible for computers or robots to be conscious.

Perhaps the thorniest issue is whether consciousness can be understood in a way that does not require a dualistic distinction between mental and physical states or properties.

In recent years, consciousness has become a significant topic of research in psychology and neuroscience............

Re: X Marks the Spot
i don`t think it was possible to define consciousness before the law changed on environment information

prior to law change all we possessed to define consciousness was incoming sensation
light via eyes
sound via ears
touch via skin
so
we were forced to accept that everything came into our body from outside because we were allowed to know light and sound traveled through air, in the case of sound and what we were told was a vacuum, in the case of light
therefore everything we called consciousness must materialize inside our body/head
we were even told to doubt there was really anything outside of us and hinted at the whole experience is an allusion
both us and "it" that comes in

now the law has changed we have mediums that are everywhere of electrical/magnetic nature
and
we are allowed to utilize fields in our description
so for the first time we can consider that we ourselves "reach out" to detect real (not illusion) objects, objects that are really there
so
consciousness, just like our auras which are now legal to possess, can be shown to exist outside of our bodies
this is why when we look at the back of someone
they mostly notice
our consciousness has effect outside of our bodies
