I don't know.

Perhaps the first time it didn't work.

I don't think they were drinking blood.
 Quoting: Seer777

What if....

He loosed a spring when he broke the rock?

I mean, enough water for them all to drink implies a significant upwelling....

Perhaps it was diverted from flowing to a fertile spot....
 Quoting: Azeratel Axo

11And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

I assume God considered it a breech of Faith. But if Moses had the kind of relationship with God which was written, you would think 'Faith' would be 'out of the picture'.

If ya get me.
 Quoting: Seer777

Sorry I was AFK.

hmm

I want to say that bringing forth water from a rock is sort of taking the LORD's seat.

That was the impression I got from the beginning.

The other, alternative impression requires that the LORD be capable of a mistake.

....

To 'humble oneself' in front of the LORD: what does that mean?

Do you think he could have switched rods and used aarons? The one that was miraculous not in the owners hand?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2285785

Perhaps he was not to seek the water at all. The point being as far a God is concerned, that 'He' provided for them while in the desert.

Manna and such.

Maybe God got to a point where he felt taken advantage of, lol, so decided to 'pull back on the rations' if you will. To show them, how dependent on their physical needs they were.

Fasting. Maybe that is where this came in.

Essentially, to be thankful for what you are provided and do not grow impatient. Have faith you will be provided for even if it seems dark and grim.

Even if you are hungry or thirsty.

Have faith God will provide.

Moses broke this by striking the rock under his own will, to provide for the Israelites, which in that sense, is 'God's job'.

Perhaps he gets really annoyed when people like to 'play him'.

As myth goes.

Water:

In a dry spiritual desert.. their soul thursted and was looking to and fro and found nothing.

The rod was used to strike...
Moses "sacrificed" to spiritually water the people and feed their spirit.

Bread:

JC was told to turn a stone to bread recall?
Then devil took JC to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”

Here is the promise:
The land flowing with milk and honey
are female products of both species, beef and bee.
These are kingdom kinds.

One is Queen Bee, drones, workers and hives.
Liberation kingdom
One is King, harem, workers and lands.
Example: Solomon's Temple kingdom

What did Abraham buy into?
What was it that Moses was leading the Hebrews to do?

The most important thing in the world is your family and time spent with your family. Not chasing the American dream of wealth, riches and the yellow brick road to the holy dollar. You can't take it with you.
Simple is more and only using what you need is best for our planet.

it is the 2 paths you can go by /z\ \z/

the good news is the 2 paths are in the bible

Divine battle vs divine speech

Two different models of the process of creation existed in ancient Israel. In the "logos" (speech) model, God speaks and shapes unresisting dormant matter into effective existence and order (Psalm 33: "By the word of YHWH the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their hosts; he gathers up the waters like a mound, stores the Deep in vaults"); in the second, or "agon" (struggle) model , God does battle with the monsters of the sea at the beginning of the world in order to mark his sovereignty and power.
Psalm 74 evokes the agon model: it opens with a lament over God's desertion of his people and their tribulations, then asks him to remember his past deeds: "You it was who smashed Sea with your might, who battered the heads of the monsters in the waters; You it was who crushed the heads of Leviathan, who left them for food for the denizens of the desert..." In this world-view the seas are primordial forces of disorder, and the work of creation is preceded by a divine combat (or "theomachy").

Creation in the "agon" model takes the following storyline: God as the divine warrior battles the monsters of chaos, who include Sea, Death, Tannin and Leviathan; The world of nature joins in the battle and the chaos-monsters are defeated; God is enthroned on a divine mountain, surrounded by lesser deities; He speaks, and nature brings forth the created world, or for the Greeks, the cosmos. This myth was taken up in later Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature and projected into the future, so that cosmic battle becomes the decisive act at the end of the world's history: thus the Book of Revelation (end of the 1st century CE) tells how, after the God's final victory over the sea-monsters, New Heavens and New Earth shall be inaugurated in a cosmos in which there will be "no more sea" (Revelation 21:1)

22 And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came to mount Hor.

23 And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

24 Aaron shall be gathered to his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to mount Hor:

26 And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered to his people, and shall die there.

27 And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

Interesting indeed....

....

If you can do something more impressive than just throw a punch, your attack(s) must have an equally impressive name. More than that, you have to call it out as you launch the attack. It doesn't matter if it's a martial arts move, a magical spell or your secret superweapon, if you can't say its name, it just isn't nearly as cool or effective. Also, expect plenty of echoing to come with it, and (if a fighter is feeling particulary bombastic) dramatic... *pauses* ...WITHAYELLATTHEEND! A standard feature of practically every Magical Girl, high fantasy, or martial arts anime.

The origins of this phenomenon are at least Older Than Print, and probably much older. The idea that words can grant power is a cross cultural phenomenon that shows up frequently in the earliest tales of swords and sorcery. Members of the Sinitic ethnolinguistic family in particular tend to ascribe special importance to the power of written characters, and the belief that special words can invoke control over supernatural power permeates their folklore (just ask your local Shinto, Buddhist, or Taoist practitioner if they've donated to a shrine or temple to have a talisman written lately). The magic power of spoken and written words was also a key concept in Ancient Egyptian religion and Ritual Magic.

Deuteronomy 34 NIV

1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan,

2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,

3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar.

4 Then the Lord said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it."

5 And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said.

6 He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.

7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.

8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.

9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses.

What is 'separation anxiety'? Children display this behavior from infancy.

It can increase or decrease with time of course.

What is the 'absence of' separation anxiety?

in my experience a lot of what is experienced will never make sense because the environment we form and sustain that the experiences occur within is not sensible
thus looking for answers that fit within what we possess is never satisfying because satisfying answers can not exist within what we possess
and
will never occur
until we alter the environment we form and sustain into the environment that does provide answers of spiritual satisfaction
