Waiting for the radishes to bulb.

The descriptive Greek name of the genus Raphanus means "quickly appearing" and refers to the rapid germination of these plants. Raphanistrum, from the same Greek root, is an old name once used for this genus. The common name "radish" is derived from Latin radix (root).

I had a good friend in college who was born in Tehran. He moved to America(California) in his childhood.

He was my first real experience being around someone of the the Islamic Faith.

He, being perhaps non-strict adherent of said, drank, smoked pot, and had sexual relations out of wedlock...

I remember one time when I was at his house, having been exposed to his behaviors many times times in the past, I spotted the Koran on a shelf in his closet.

I asked if I could I could look at it.

He seemed uncomfortable with the question. And paused for a bit.

He then said, okay, but go wash your hands first.

I found that curious.
