Re: X Marks the Spot
Actually, belief is inconsequential...one's life must actually be in imminent danger.
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

Of course. It only works when it's properly aligned. And in order to be properly aligned, one must believe that their life or the life of another is in imminent danger.

In other words, death has to be in the room. Otherwise, it is just an emotional outburst. An indulgence.

There is a good reason that there are only 3 levels for the dark ones and 9 levels for the light ones.

The 'friends of the dark' can only play on man's three enemies.

However, any barely aware goon with a knife, bat, or gun can do physical damage. In my opinion, the goons are more dangerous than the dark-friends.

And now the phrase 'suppressing fire' has new meaning for me.

Thanks.

On another note...

I thought this was interesting and perhaps a little proof of 'all that is not you' as Natures response to the woman's adoration of the storm of which she was witness.

Survey: One in five Americans has no religion
9th Oct.2012

The fastest growing "religious" group in America is made up of people with no religion at all, according to a Pew survey showing that one in five Americans is not affiliated with any religion.

The number of these Americans has grown by 25% just in the past five years, according to a survey released Tuesday by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life....

Who would of thunk it?

This does not just happen for no reason. People are understanding the fallacies and atrocities that come from organized religions and institutions. They are using reason to define their spiritual selves and taking it back, looking inside instead of outside for the answers they seek.

Rather than seeing the saptaparna doctrine as being mainly “Western” with an “Eastern” gloss, it would be more accurate to view the Indian elements as fully integrated into a synthesised whole. Due to the process of syncretism, something altogether new was created, neither “Western” nor “Eastern” but global.

“When the first ‘Seven’ appeared on earth, they threw the seed of everything that grows on the land into the soil. First came three, and four were added to these as soon as stone was transformed into plant. Then came the second ‘Seven,’ who, guiding the Jivas of the plants, produced the middle (intermediate) natures between plant and moving living animal. The third ‘Seven’ evolved their Chhayas. . . . The fifth ‘Seven’imprisoned their Essence. . . . Thus man became a Saptaparna.” (Commentary.)

Saptaparna.

Such is the name given in Occult phraseology to man. It means as shown elsewhere, a seven-leaved plant, and the name has a great significance in the Buddhist legends. So it had, also, under disguise, in the Greek “myths.” The T, or image_il (tau), formed from the figure 7, and the Greek letter [[G]] (gamma), was (see § “Cross and Circle”) the symbol of life,

From you link...

"Rastafari see cannabis as a sacramental and deeply beneficial plant that is the Tree of Life mentioned in the Bible. Bob Marley, amongst many others, have quoted

Revelation: 22:2, "... the herb is the healing of the nations."

The use of cannabis, and particularly of long-stemmed water-pipes called chalices, is an integral part of what Rastafari call "reasoning sessions" where members join together to discuss life according to the Rasta perspective. They see the use of cannabis as bringing them closer to God, whom they call (Jah), allowing the user to penetrate the truth of things much more clearly, as if the wool had been pulled from one's eyes."
