Newly Discovered Brain Region Helps Make Humans Unique

Scientists have identified a part of the brain that seems to be unique to humans.

The brain region, called the lateral frontal pole prefrontal cortex, was described today (Jan. 28) in the journal Neuron, and is linked to higher thinking processes.

"We tend to think that being able to plan into the future, be flexible in our approach and learn from others are things that are particularly impressive about humans," Matthew Rushworth, an experimental psychologist at Oxford University, said in a statement. "We've identified an area of the brain that appears to be uniquely human, and is likely to have something to do with these cognitive powers," ..............

What happens when you cut the skin? Oxidative stress reactions get a hold of neural, vascular and every supportive tissue in between. Inflammational and heightened intracellular signalling.

Reduce oxidative stress and catalytic reactions from the composition of the tools used and the ballgame changes.

Look how cancer changes when it's exposed to oxygen.

yes
you can see the principles here

By ionizing the material being cut--removing it atom by atom--the cutting technique allows precise machining of everything from steel to tooth enamel to very soft materials like heart tissue. Each pulse of this machining system is extremely short, lasting just 50 to 1,000 femtoseconds (or quadrillionths of a second). These ultrashort pulses are too brief to transfer heat or shock to the material being cut, which means that cutting, drilling, and machining occur with virtually no damage to surrounding material. Furthermore, this revolutionary laser can cut with extreme precision, making hairline cuts in thick materials along a computer-generated path.

Re: X Marks the Spot

well that is the point , organic machine like function

machine in the context of what our philosophies of materialism formed from is unlike organic doing visible functions which we call machine like because of the mechanical things we have created in our past prompting us to make the associations
there is no associations other than the visible signs that prompt our memory to think of our mechanical creations
 Quoting: aether

and this is why materialists possess such huge emotional problems on the topic conscious process because they possess no ability to imagine non mechanical process in association with machine like functions observed within nature

because to a materialist there must be physical contact of something possessing material structure striking (forcing) another material structure to do what it does
there can be no gaps in material contact within the machine like process
 Quoting: aether

but organic everything feel the environment they are something within thus everything organic possess a degree of self because everything organic knows what it is by the singular effect of what it is within telling it so
just like us
we know we are a person because the singular effect of our universe causes us to know we are

a cell in a body knows it is a cell because the singular effect of a body causes the cell to know it is a cell

singular effect we know is the synergy of all things that are the completed unit whatever that unit is
 Quoting: aether

Very similar to the holons concept.
 Quoting: Septenary

it is very similar and when we add the non material dimensions and the organic conscious process caused by our non material dimensions interaction (feedback) we begin to feel the holon experience

in a no sense operation our unconscious mind does not notice the operation
if the conscious mind (self) is kept calm/tranquil and focused on calm contentment by the operator the body of the patient functions through the process as if the process was not occurring

Re: X Marks the Spot
we have had this tech running for sometime ourselves
this is it on eyes, a sensitive organ

FEMTOLASIK is comfortable and painless: The patient’s head is not fixed during the procedure.

FEMTOLASIK also helps in severe cases: Thanks to the extremely high frequency of the laser pulses, the layers of the cornea are separated with unprecedented precision, creating an ultra-thin flap. FEMTOLASIK is therefore effective in patients who were previously not candidates for laser surgery. This includes patients with extreme myopia or thin corneas.

No inflammation: The laser energy used for FEMTOLASIK is about a 100 times lower than with other lasers. This is more gentle to the corneal tissue and prevents temporary inflammatory reactions of the eye.

Fast results: The recovery period is considerably shorter than for other techniques. Patients are usually able to see well within hours, often even minutes.

Unfortunately it is a stage. Since you got him clipped, well, that helps overall, but it may take a bit before the urge becomes secondary.

You can try spraying him with a squirt bottle when he does it, which I recommend, so he knows that it is not something you want him to do.

He's not my dog. I am just watching him for the week. I would have allowed some of his behavior for about 5 seconds before it would be immediately addressed.

But others whom are here, have varying ideas regarding. So I have stayed much out of it. Only to watch the behavior intensify and regress.

He's mine now. Squirt bottle armed and ready.

Re: X Marks the Spot
On another note...does anyone know how to keep a puppy from humping everything?

Seemingly endlessly entertaining for everyone but me... This dog has already 'destroyed' two of his 'girlfriends'(pillows). And is working on the third.

He was 'clipped' a week ago and it hasn't seemed to slow him down. In that regard. Ugh.

Squirt bottle armed and ready.

lol.

I am not dangerous. I am highly effective. Toddlers in my care did not tantrum. Learned to speak early. And did not misbehave.

Tone of voice and proper focus of attention can move mountains.
