Re: X Marks the Spot
The definition of Macedonia has changed several times throughout history.

Prior to its expansion under Philip II, the ancient kingdom of Macedonia, to which the modern region owes its name, lay entirely within the central and western parts of the current Greek province of Macedonia. In the second century Macedonia covered approximately the area where it is considered to be today, but the northern regions of today Republic of Macedonia were not identified as Macedonian lands. However for reasons that are still unclear, over the next eleven centuries Macedonia's location was changed significantly.................

Macedonia (ancient kingdom)

The lands around Aegae, the first Macedonian capital, were home to various peoples. Macedonia was called Emathia (from king Emathion) and the city of Aiges was called Edessa, the capital of fabled king Midas in his youth.

10 Mysterious Features Of The Earth That We May Never Understand

Eye Of The Sahara

The Richat Structure, or the Eye of the Sahara, is a 50-kilometer-wide (30 mile) circular feature in the world’s hottest desert. It’s made of concentric circles in various shades of blue and is best seen from space. For a long time, it was thought to be an impact crater, but recent research suggests that’s almost certainly not the case. The heat and pressure of a meteor strike leaves behind telltale compounds, including a form of silicon dioxide called coesite. The Eye has none.

Some people have noted a resemblance to Plato’s descriptions of Atlantis and suggest the mythical city may have had its home there. Even if Atlanteans had lived there, evidence suggests that the structure formed nearly 100 million years ago, so they didn’t build it. The extent of human habitation is a makeshift camp for adventurous tourists.

Another possibility is that the Richat Structure is the top of a volcano, but it’s not the bulged dome shape we’d expect to find. The current leading theory is that the feature was eroded into place over a long period of time. That covers what’s on the ground, but it leaves the circular shape an utter mystery.

Phrygia

In antiquity, Phrygia , Ancient Greek: , Turkish: Frigya) was a kingdom in the west central part of Anatolia, in what is now Turkey, centered around the Sakarya River.

The Phrygians are most famous for their legendary kings of the heroic age of Greek mythology: Gordias whose Gordian Knot would later be untied by Alexander the Great, Midas who turned whatever he touched to gold, and Mygdon who warred with the Amazons. According to Homer's Iliad, the Phrygians were close allies of the Trojans and participants in the Trojan War against the Achaeans. Phrygian power reached its peak in the late 8th century BC under another, historical king Midas, who dominated most of western and central Anatolia and rivaled Assyria and Urartu for power in eastern Anatolia..........

Their bird is a cross between the Crow of Kronos, which is cousin to the Raven of Apollo, mentioned in the Book of Job 38:41 in the Bible.

Further, the bird's wingspan is that of the Egyptian Goddess Isis, amongst other.

Further, ISIS being in the news of late and how closely related Isis is to Ibis a bird, is of interest.

Ibis is the oft used depiction of Egyptian god Thoth. Author of the Emerald Tablets. Thoth is equivalent of Greek god Hermes who is the messenger of the gods.

Hermes is Mercury is Paul as in the Author credited for the Epistles of the NT Bible. Acts 14:12

To phonetically connect the loop Paul sounds like the phonetic A-Paul-O.

Further toward a loop, Apple the Corporation (Appollo) and Job 38, (Steve Jobs)...the Address of Apple in Cupertino, CA is 'One Infinite Loop'.

Further, Thoth-Hermes-Paul was the trickster god. The magician or alchemist. The wizard Merlin.

Job 1:1 begins..."There was a man in the land of Uz,"...Emerald City.

Uz, aka Oz...Wizard in Emerald City-Thoth=Hermes=Paul=Apaulo/Apollo.

Sounds like the making of a first class game of loop de loop. I just don't want to play any longer. I'd like the truth. Love cannot grow in lies.

Eye of the Sahara

The Richat Structure, also known as the Eye of the Sahara and Guelb er Richat, is a prominent circular feature in the Sahara desert of west–central Mauritania near Ouadane.
 Quoting: observation

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Also known as the Richat Structure, it was originally thought that this was caused by an asteroid impact. But because of a lack of evidence for "Shock metamorphism" caused from a hypervelocity extraterrestrial impact, that theory was thrown out and the structure as of present "requires further investigation of its origin"

Suffice to say, this was definitely produced by some form of large-scale electrical discharge. But how exactly did it produce the pattern? Could it have been several pulsed discharges in the same place? Was it a continuous discharge that rapidly rotated around, forming several concentric circles?

There are also Lichtenberg figures everywhere in and around the structure. Would this mean there were thousands of 'smaller' lightning streamers branching off from a larger discharge arc? [link to maps.google.com (secure)]

I thought this poster had some interesting theories regarding the Eye of the Sahara.

As a geographer (B.A.) the radial dendretic and lichtenberg ridge lines and the many kinds of Geo-symmetries and patterns found in and beyond the valley are indicators that perhaps more complex and energetic active processes were involved in the formation of the Tweed and surrounds than magma and erosion.

With a simple understanding of electricity, gained pretty much solely from amasci.com come to think of it..., it seems sensible to suggest that when two differentially charged bodies, say like the earth and some other planet or moon sized object for instance, get close enough for actual charges to form a current between them, it does - and two or more points are connected via plasma as charges move to equalise the difference.

My assumption is that when electrons are being transferred in a current to the earth due to its relative positive charge in relation to a somehow nearby 'planet sized object x', then positive charges travel back up that current on the outside, and sometimes also in the middle. Positive charges don't like to separate from their associated molecules, and so in the process of being plasma pull up 'crater' walls and sometimes a central peak, while associated electrical energy forces lift those ridges as they drag protons out of the earth.

Can't prove it - haven't got a lab.

I saw something interesting while meditating just now and wanted to share...

It was a single oak leaf.

I looked up the symbolism and found this.

In Greek mythology, the oak is the tree sacred to Zeus, king of the gods. In Zeus's oracle in Dodona, Epirus, the sacred oak was the centerpiece of the precinct, and the priests would divine the pronouncements of the god by interpreting the rustling of the oak's leaves.

In Baltic mythology, the oak is the sacred tree of Latvian, is the god of thunder and one of the most important deities in the Baltic pantheon.

In Celtic polytheism, the name of the oak tree was part of the Proto-Celtic word for 'druid': 'strong knowledge'. As in other Indo-European faiths, Taranus, being a Thunder God, was associated with the oak tree. The Indo-Europeans worshiped the oak and connected it with a thunder or lightning god; "tree" and drus may also be cognate with "Druid," the Celtic priest to whom the oak was sacred. There has even been a study that shows that oaks are more likely to be struck by lightning than any other tree of the same height.

In Norse mythology, the oak was sacred to the thunder god, Thor. Thor's Oak was a sacred tree of the Germanic Chatti tribe. According to legend, the Christianisation of the heathen tribes by Saint Boniface was marked by the oak's being replaced by the fir (whose triangular shape symbolizes the Trinity) as a "sacred" tree.

In the Bible, the oak tree at Shechem is the site where Jacob buries the foreign gods of his people (Gen. 35:4) . In addition, Joshua erects a stone under an oak tree as the first covenant of the Lord (Josh. 24.25–7). In Isaiah 61, the prophet refers to the Israelites as "Oaks of Righteousness".

In Slavic mythology, the oak was the most important tree of the god Perun.

Perun
In Slavic mythology, Perun is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning.

His other attributes were fire, mountains, the oak, iris, eagle, firmament
(in Indo-European languages, this was joined with the notion of the sky of stone), horses and carts, weapons (the hammer, axe (Axe of Perun), and arrow), and war. He was first associated with weapons made of stone and later with those of metal.
