OmniPhi Prime User ID: 33231579 United States 07/08/2014 06:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i`m good thanks you know what i have noticed , decisions of emotional importance of scale upon gaia are caused by the influence of philosophers being influenced by philosophers being influenced by philosophy "The unexamined life is not worth living." yes what is philosophy in our 21st century because our threads clearly show to me that little of our philosophers philosophy fits what we experience in current reality feels like the notion of philosophy is up for grabs globally and nothing looks likely cos nothing is not several thousand years out of date with a few bits a pieces floating around on the fringes in our past few hundred years nothing really has occurred in anything for a few thousand years on the topic philosophy Yes and no. It is not a popular topic. Nobody wants to be one of those people who turns everything into a philosophical conversation. I think money really does a good job at killing it as well. People can just talk without greed sticking it's head in when a good conversation goes somewhere. At the same time we do have scientific advancements that bring up some good conversation. Space exploration being the first thing that comes to mind for me. I think mostly humans need to get over the idea that people in the past were somehow inferior. If we don't learn from our history, we are doomed to repeat it (the ugly parts that is). Maybe it is the current society structure and population size that hurts philosophy. It is damn hard to find a leader these days. Anyone who steps up to the challenge better know most will try to beat them down without ever listening to a word they have said. It has almost gotten to the point where people don't listen to kind words. If you want to be an effective leader, you got to take it by force. For me I say just push the conversation forward. Talk with everyone. Ask questions. Try to get those around you to think a little. Most people just need a little push in the right direction. Even a small voice can have great influence. Think Golden Mirror! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 58494662 Hong Kong 07/08/2014 09:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We are aspects of divinity playing itself out in manifest reality in order to fulfill the great work. That is the unification of opposites. The philosophers stone. That stone is not fully realized in the perfection of the individual soul. The true fulfillment of the great work is to be realized in the collective consciousness, and that is why the great power of heroic force must rise and oppose the powers of oppression and destruction. Because in the meeting of those forces the singularity can be achieved. We live in special times. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58494662 |

Seer777 Ride the wings of the mind User ID: 60023316 United States 07/08/2014 10:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a situation I would like to discuss with those who will. A bit of a moral dilemma. This beach house sits in the middle of 2 lots and is waterfront. Both of the houses directly behind us have a view of the water from the front of there houses as well from either side our house. Since purchasing this place we have had consistent issues with people using our beach access or even so much as setting up chairs up on our 'perch' and hanging out in our yard. Sometimes even when here. They also use our parking. To combat this we have created a rope fence with a 'private' sign. It hasn't helped much. The 4 owner families have decided upon consensus that we are going to build a fence around our property. Doing this will destroy the views of the 2 houses behind us and as you might imagine this will most likely stir angry emotion, not only due the loss of view but their property values as well. Personally, I have no problem with people using our beach access and I think it is selfish to think otherwise. People setting up chairs when I'm here on the perch, has never happened to me. I am the only one objecting to move. And I am completely outvoted. While I do like the privacy aspect the fence will provide, I think it will also create resentment from the neighbors. Should I care about their feelings in this regard? It is often their renters, but not always. Should they pay for the deeds of others? The legal beach access is about a block down the road. There is a little park there as well. Bathrooms. That kind of thing. sometimes people marginalize everything in order to give themselves the benefit of the doubt in the eyes other others and themselves. their victimhood requires such appearances of empathy. it is not empathy, it is a form of manipulation in an attempt to control others and their behavior towards oneself. it is a process of absolving ones own conflicts. conflicts that one creates in order to verify their own moral standing, so that when one does something that is questionably immoral one can find a reason to justify it. what have you done recently that was really questionably immoral and not fabricated? its the same answer given since childhood. everyone else is doing it! lol nobody owns what they paid for, but if others wished to share in what you paid for they should have purchased it themselves. |
