Re: X Marks the Spot
However, I am recalling Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...where one would request to lose said memory of an event or entire person just because it was to painful to recall.

However the Mind fights back.

Why do you think this is?
 Quoting: Seer777

Yes, I've seen that movie. There was something very sad about it.

I would say that generally, something always pushes back when we try to change ourselves.

I would call it 'the human form'. It only appears to be the 'mind' in some cases.
 Quoting: Jonny Blaze

Well, if we think of trauma as touching a hot stove and being burned.

The memory of said burn will cause one to act differently in attempt to avoid painful burns in the future.

A necessary memory to hold for the continuation of said individual who desires not to be constantly nursing burns.

Other kinds of trauma however...

It seems some people are able to turn trauma into something beautiful by helping others get over theirs.

A mutual healing.

However, the memory remains.

Perhaps one could think of trauma like the phoenix. One must 'burn down' the memory and then allow it to re-birth in a fashion which allows one to move forward.

Interesting. But what use does the emotional attachment of being burned truly serve? As a reminder?

What about those who never touched the stove and never will? How do they do it?

Whatever has to be learned has to be learned the hard way.
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

I don't know if you guys remember me telling me dream a while back about me stealing a painting out of the trunk of a car and it looked like the picture of the super moon seer posted. Well, not to run xena into the ground here, lol, but the same picture was shown a few times in that show, mainly when she went to the east.

Here are some quotes from Lao Ma and some of the relevant passages from the Tao Te Ching.

Fill yourself with desire and see only illusion. Empty yourself of desire and understand the great mystery of things. --Lao Ma

Free from desire, you realize the mystery. Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations. --Tao Te Ching

To conquer others is to have power. To conquer yourself is to know the way. --Lao Ma

Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power. --Tao Te Ching

The entire world is driven by a will, blind and ruthless. In order to transcend the limitations of that world, you need to stop willing, stop desiring, stop hating. --Lao Ma

Heaven endures and the Earth lasts a long time because they do not live for themselves. Therefore she who would live a long time should live for others, serve others. --Lao Ma

You know, thinking on it more, there truly is no one to blame. I am viewing it from a state of hindsight is 20/20. Saying something like 'serves them right', is kind of based on the 'ego' of that hindsight.

Everyone is following their own path of clues and conclusions.
