Seems like every time you really examine it up close, you see something that wasn't there before.

It was, indeed, the first thing we ever DVR'd. The force of the physical blow of the mantis shrimp's 'hammer' is insignificant compared to the bubble of compressive force used to generate the momentum of the swing.
