It might be worth looking into finding out how the Pentagon Building is oriented to the cardinal points....cardinal...a red color.
Check ya'll tomorrow. ;)
Lets consider this ... the Oval Office his place of power so to speak.

The room features three large south-facing windows behind the president's desk, and a fireplace at the north end. It has four doors: the east door opens to the Rose Garden; the west door leads to a private smaller study and dining room; the northwest door opens onto the main corridor of the West Wing; and the northeast door opens to the office of the president's secretary.
Since His desk is facing North it is the point of where he draws his power from ( same reason the temple/alter was pointed towards the east ..
In front of his desk to the north of the office is a fire place ( the Fire/Energy element). Seems they have the energy flow reversed tho
"Each of the elements is associated with traits and meanings, as well as with directions on the compass. The following directional associations are for the Northern hemisphere; readers in the Southern hemisphere should use the opposite correspondences
Connected to the North, Earth is considered the ultimate feminine element.
Air is the element of the East, connected to the soul and the breath of life.
Fire is a purifying, masculine energy, associated with the South, and connected to strong will and energy.
Water is a feminine energy and highly connected with the aspects of the Goddess. Used for healing, cleansing, and purification, Water is related to the West, and associated with passion and emotion.
an altar can be set up in any of the four directions. East, air, is for beginnings, South, fire can invoke passion and determination, West, water, is for cleansing, North, Earth, is for closure or to represent the end of something also can be devoted to the gods and goddesses. They each can have different meaning depending on your intent. They can each represent a different God or Goddess. Each directions also represents a phase in ones life. East, childhood; south teen/young adult; west adulthood, maturity and North, the winter of one's life, this is where the crone of death lives. There are many interpretations to all of the above. It depends on one's teachings and belief system.
