Re: X Marks the Spot
I need a quick idea what something means. But, let me say this first. My sister is starting to see symbols (with third eye) associated with people.

She told me about McCain having a pyramid with eye on his forehead. She was confused when she saw Obama last week because she thought she saw a 5 pointed star on his forehead, but could not see the top 3 points of the star, which really confused her. She could see the bottom two legs of the star, but the top portion wasn't there, so she was guessing that it was a 5 pointed star.

She just saw Obama on TV, and the entire star was there. The star's legs are just over Obama's eyes, and the star's height goes to the top of his forehead.

Now, what does a 5 pointed star mean, symbolically, in relation to this 'vision'?

how do 2 rays/triangles = 5 rays/triangles ?

I was thinking she saw the incomplete star because his anointing had yet to take place. After the election and his win, it formed fully.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1494715

This simple symbol, composed of five, straight lines to form a star, harks back to 3000 BC in Mesopotamia, where Sumerian pentagrams were said to connote the word “UB,” meaning “corner” or “angle.” The mystical meaning of the pentagram surfaced in Babylonian times, wherein the five points of the shape was said to refer to Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Venus. Through the centuries, this five-pointed star has been used by several religions: the Hebrews used the symbol to represent the Truth and the five books of the Pentateuch; the Druids referred to the pentagram as the Godhead and the Christians said that the five points represented Christ’s five wounds.

The power of the pentagram is still used and felt today. Five, for instance, has always been considered a magical number: we have five fingers and toes on each extremity; we have five common senses; we have five initiations in our lives (birth, adolescence, coitus, parenthood and death). The pentagram also contains the golden mean or ratio: a symbol of beauty and perfection. As such, it is believed to be a powerful symbol for protection against evil or conflicts. It can also be used to promote good and beautiful energy in a person or environment.

Exactly
The engravings translate to "This space intentionally left blank."

The prayer is inscribed in an ancient script, rarely used today. It seems to be a philippic against small insects, absent-mindedness, and the picking up and dropping of small objects.

The gate is open; through it you can see a desolation, with a pile of mangled bodies in one corner. Thousands of voices, lamenting some hideous fate, can be heard.
The way through the gate is barred by evil spirits, who jeer at your attempts to pass.

aether...I thought of you while reading this...lol

Wheeler & Feynman
J. A. Wheeler and R.P. Feynman attempted to derive the ordinary irreversibility of radiation from the time-reversibility of Maxwell's equations. They argued that the observed properties of an electric charge, that it radiates energy and suffers damping of its motion can be explained in terms of an "absorber theory of radiation". They used the Schwarzschild- Tetrode-Fokker equation for a flat space and found that they had to postulate both "advanced" (future) and "retarded" (past) fields; the divisions of time seemed to be "inextricably mixed". ...Wheeler and Feynman assumed that (a) time-asymmetry is initially present; and (b) persists on a purely statistical basis. J.E. Hogarth(5) showed that assumption (b) is inconsistent with any realistic absorber theory of radiation. He and D.W. Sciama argued that the Wheeler-Feynman theory of radiation holds in the Steady-State cosmologies of Hoyle and Narlikar, but not in general, in the Einstein-de Sitter models. (C.T.K. Chari) (4:216)

The dependence of the electromagnetic arrow of time on the thermodynamic arrow was a feature of the absorber theory formulated by Wheeler and Feynman (1945). In an attempt to produce a theory of charged elementary particles which avoided the difficulties that had beset previous theories of their interaction with electromagnetic fields, they introduced the hypothesis that every photon has an absorber as well as an emitter. In their theory an accelerated charged particle emits radiation equally into the past and future. In other words, retarded and advanced waves are generated symmetrically. If the radiation is confined to an opaque enclosure, so that all of it is absorbed, the waves striking the walls will cause the charged particles therein to radiate likewise into both the past and the future. Wheeler and Feynman showed that if the enclosure is fully opaque, the advanced waves emitted by the walls will just cancel those from the source particle and only the retarded waves will be left. ... Moreover, since all attempts to produce a quantum-mechanical version of the absorber theory lead to the same difficulties as previous theories of the interactions of charged particles with the electromagnetic field, there is no strong argument in its favour and in fact its original proponents have abandoned it. (2:341-342)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27215208

but what if particles can go back to the future? surely Cern can figure that out? All you smart guys working there better get on the ball before some "nobody" figures it out before yall do...now, that would be funny...

I have the deluxe edition of the game. But I don't think it has all the cards. I'll browse through the album. ;)

Me and the wife occasionally play it. I'd love to play it with more than two people...but unfortunately the game is kinda mathematically complex (for the average joe), and the premise of the game scares some people off.

It's actually really fun to play though.

Has your sister seen the star on anyone else, besides two presidential candidates?

Also, when she saw them, were either engaged in giving what could be seen as a speech, or were they more mingling in crowds?

On Israel I would agree. He is going to turn on them.

But, IMO, Obama doesn't run our foreign policy. He is just a rubber stamp. He doesn't even attend most of his intelligence briefings.

The bulk of his executive power has always been aimed at domestic issues. On foreign policy, he bows to NATO, the UN, and most importantly the technocrat elite.

according to the person who`s room it is the 3 were checking all was well because the person who`s room it is had not come home the night before and gone straight to work from where they stayed
the man standing by the bed was me
the 2 women were unknown
all 3 stayed and the person fell asleep with them present feeling looked after because that is what they do
look after them

i was told by another person today that last night 2 unknown people appeared on this same floor level, unknown identity , both radiated good feelings to the witness and left them with a sense of security

Hey aether,

Check out the drudge report's main pic.

Tell me that McDonald's sign doesn't resemble the Egyptian glyph of the boat heading in what is presumably a SE direction.
