Re: X Marks the Spot
My shield (no, make that empowerment) came from a vision I had. I had been going through the Dark Places on the other-side for about 2 years straight. I was at a complete loss as to how to shake it. I begged for an answer in a lucid dream.

(When I went lucid in my dreams, I would literally get pulled down into the dark places. If I wanted to continue spiritually, I felt I had to experience the dark places and clean them out. But, I was doing it for years straight, with experiences almost every night.)

A female showed up. I begged her to tell me how to stop going down into the darkness. I had tried everything I knew to stop being 'pulled' down there. It was something I didn't want to hear, but at the same time, I knew it was Truth.

She only told me three words that changed me utterly.

I still remember her smile. Gentle and knowing, her eyes of sadness and understanding.

"Stand your ground."

 Quoting: Septenary Man

I remember another time, I was talking with another female on the other side. It was as if she remembered me from a previous life. We were walking down a beach during the daytime.

All of a sudden, another female ran up and fell to her knees right in front of me and wrapped her arms around my legs. She was crying, sobbing with joy. She kept on saying thank you, thank you, thank you.

Then she looked up and saw the other female with me, and she said, "This is the one that saved me!" with tears falling down her face.

The female I had been talking with said, "You know, you can't save them all."

At that point I knew what the female was up to that was walking with me. She was trying to plant seeds.

I don't know why, but I thought to myself, Watch me try.

Then, I removed her from my area of influence. It seemed like a test was passed because of another female arriving. But, I'm not going to go into that...

Geez. This is the stuff I don't talk about. It makes me extremely uncomfortable talking about it.

I have NO idea why I wrote that. I probably shouldn't have. I do not like what it feels like after I write things like that.

The uncomfortable feeling is as if it is something extremely personal that I shouldn't just lay out there. I feel exposed, like walking through a busy mall...naked.

I have more memories of the other side, than I do of my normal waking life. Kind of messed up, isn't it...

Maybe another reason I don't like talking about this is it makes me realize how different/strange I am.

Hermetic Qabalah

Hermetic Qabalah (From the Hebrew "reception" or "accounting", usually transliterated with a 'Q' rather than a 'K' or a 'C', to distinguish it from Jewish Kabbalah and Christian Cabbalah respectively) is a Western esoteric and mystical tradition.................

...........Hermetic Qabalah draws on a great many influences, most notably: Jewish Kabbalah, Western astrology, Alchemy, pagan religions, especially Egyptian and Greco-Roman (the latter being from which the term "Hermetic" is derived), neoplatonism, gnosticism, the Enochian system of angelic magic of John Dee and Edward Kelley, hermeticism, rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, tantra and the symbolism of the tarot. Hermetic Qabalah differs from the Jewish form in being a more admittedly syncretic system, however it shares many concepts with Jewish Kabbalah....

.............A primary concern of Hermetic Qabalah is the nature of divinity, its conception of which is quite markedly different from that presented in monotheistic religions; in particular there is not the strict separation between divinity and man which is seen in monotheisms. Hermetic Qabalah holds to the neoplatonic conception that the manifest universe, of which material creation is a part, arose as a series of emanations from the godhead....

Jewish Kabbalah was absorbed into the Hermetic tradition at least as early as the 15th century when Giovanni Pico della Mirandola promoted a syncretic world view combining Platonism, Neoplatonism, Aristotelianism, Hermeticism and Kabbalah. This was further developed by Athanasius Kircher, a Jesuit priest, hermeticist and polymath, who wrote extensively on the subject in 1652, bringing further elements such as Orphism and Egyptian mythology to the mix
 Quoting: Observation

According to Joseph MacDonnell, it was "because of Kircher's work that scientists knew what to look for when interpreting the Rosetta stone". Another scholar of ancient Egypt, Erik Iversen, concluded:
It is therefore Kircher's incontestable merit that he was the first to have discovered the phonetic value of an Egyptian hieroglyph. From a humanistic as well as an intellectual point of view Egyptology may very well be proud of having Kircher as its founder.
Kircher was also actively involved in the erection of obelisks in Roman squares, often adding fantastic "hieroglyphs" of his own design in the blank areas that are now puzzling to modern scholars.

Syncretism

Syncretism is the combining of different (often seemingly contradictory) beliefs, often while melding practices of various schools of thought. Syncretism may involve the merger and analogising of several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, thus asserting an underlying unity and allowing for an inclusive approach to other faiths.
