because the over view is this
we (people) did not just get our universe (reality) wrong
we got it so wrong that upon discovery we discovered everything we base our belief of ourselves and "god" is wrong

nothing matched
so that takes linear time to adjust because we possess no records or history to refer back to on what anything actually means

all we know is for maybe 10,000 years we never touched something that instantly killed all of us
that does not mean we can`t
it may mean we just have not yet
it is that basic
we don`t know
