Yep. I always immediately see the torus shape in things like this now.

One on each side of the eight defining the circles. >8< where the >< is pointing to where the inversion points occur, collapsing in towards pi (singularity point). OR, you are just using the 2 pi to describe the two spheres. It is the second one, I think. Either way, it is pi collapsing into infinity through the inversion places of the laterally spinning torus.
