They say imitation is the finest form of flattery, but I'm not sure that is it... But with an adult, it is like they are trying on your clothes Well, adults imitate as children do. And certainly doesn't need be 'creepy'. It can be. The whole 'why are you copying me' bit, is Ego believing one owns what is being imitated. That is false ego and leads to resentment. Once seen from a different vantage point, it become more clear. If we see another acting/speaking/dressing what have you, in a manner that pleases us, we find a kind of common ground of mutual enjoyment. Admiration. Being part of the group...if you will.
