The 32-panel configuration is the spherical polyhedron corresponding to the truncated icosahedron; it is spherical because the faces bulge from the pressure of the air inside. The first 32-panel ball was marketed by Select in the 1950s in Denmark. This configuration became common throughout Continental Europe in the 1960s, and was publicised worldwide by the Adidas Telstar, the official ball of the 1970 World Cup. The familiar 32-panel football design is sometimes referenced to describe the truncated icosahedron Archimedean solid, carbon buckyballs or the root structure of geodesic domes. [link to en.wikipedia.org] guess I got to look up about buckyballs, I think that was talked about on the marko thread. |

Christians do not have any prohibitions on vocalizing the Tetragrammaton; in most Christian translations of the Bible, "LORD" is used in place of the Tetragrammaton after the Hebrew Adonai, and is written with small capitals (or in all caps) to distinguish it from other words translated "Lord". They radiate outwards as well, like a flowing sheet. Our sun does something similar. I miss all my smilies. I had a good one of that. Seer, do you have the one that I am talking about? The sun's flowing skirts? mmm gotcha, thx And there you have the twists and turns of field that enwrap until they become eyes to the Sun's balancing act until they pop wide open. :sunskirt: ahha perfect. that spiral motion is exactly what I wanted to see. explains a lot for me and why I've had a connection to this field in a really big way lately. I've got the image of it which I'll start recreating in my altered states. Like you say, aether; see it, be it. You know, I wonder if I heard the 'lost' pronouncement of it that night. Never can know one way or the other, since it is lost...I wish I could remember what it sounded like. I know it was very flowing and short. It did not sound clipped, like most of our languages do now, but more like variations in humming or something. Fun to think about anyway. :adonaiform: The Divine Name is written in Hebrew with the letters equivalent to YHWH. The word is traditionally regarded as too sacred to pronounce, with the result that its authentic original pronunciation has been lost. (Scripture readings in synagogue services substitute “Adonai” [the LORD] for the actual Divine Name.) However, biblical scholars now believe that it was probably pronounced as “Yahvehh” (the H-sounds being guttural or almost guttural, like the G in Afrikaans or Dutch), rather than “Jehovah”. Hilda Ellis Davidson draws links to the sword placed in Barnstokkr to marriage oaths performed with a sword in pre-Christian Germanic societies, noting a potential connection between the carrying of the sword by a young man before the bride at a wedding as a phallic symbol, indicating an association with fertility. Davidson cites records of wedding ceremonies and games in rural districts in Sweden involving trees or "stocks" as late as the 17th century, and cites a custom in Norway "surviving into recent times" for "the bridegroom to plunge his sword into the roof beam, to test the 'luck' of the marriage by the depth of the scar he made".
