Yes, As their completion (revenge) only adds to the burden.

Ego protecting itself. :) As ones ability to let go of a believed slight, an expression of Divinity within the individual. It is one reason why the story of the 'Fallen' is confusing to me, as I could never quite understand why they couldn't be forgiven... I have considered when/if they return to reap mankind, if that is their way of rectifying.  In the end we realize Karma as all that exists is 1. You do unto yourself.
