I wonder if they still think it collapsed? It looks like it is perfectly in place I am not sure the image at the top is 'real'. This one may be though.  The sonar images are bizarre. The area of the torus that is inverted is where it flows back into itself. Check out the Klein Bottle, or the Mobius Strip. Beautiful inversion there, where the outside somehow becomes the inside while still remaining the outside. LOL Dion's skein comes to mind with the Klein principle. |
