Was gonna post on the RD Bridge about same as you, 'cept went to bed. ;)
We tunnel in our minds all the time, if the tough one doesn't cede then we must tunnel around id.

I find swinging a hammer, smashing down old walls and farming quite conducive to 'building' constructs and schemas as there is always something to reconcile in old mistakes left in the dirt, building practice or self.
