And I all to well remember the Challenger exploding watched it happen on Tv when I was stationed in Germany down in the recreation room at the time , I remember feeling stunned then :( sort of like when 9/11 happened

the part that got me was the military general guy how he died and the kid was him and he saw the whole thing how K took him aside made him forget..

I lost it... I was junk...

if I think back to any major event the only one I can think of and know what I was doing at the time was 9/11

everything else is was a blur.. I dont recall what I was doing during Dianna death or shuttle crashes... nada...

I use to often relay to others the damage one can do to ones psyche by watching some of the things available on this site or the web in general.

It is a compulsion for some reason for Man to desire to witness horror.


For example, many months ago there was a vid circulating on GLP regarding a Chinese toddler being run over, twice, then left on the road while people just passed right on by her.

I ignored the thread knowing that I should not watch said video, due to others I had seen in the past which continued to haunt me.

After much internal struggle, and seeing the thread bumped for over a week, I decided to watch it. What I saw so horrified and disgusted me, that it is burned into my memory forever.

I made a choice in that moment, to no longer expose myself to the horror which was available for me to 'click'.

And attempted to warn others from doing so.


As that once seen, can not be unseen.

Perhaps that is what Dion means by all consciousness is visual.

There was another instance where adrenaline kicked in for me when I was at Fort Sam Houston San Antonio for my medic training and we got our first weekend pass. Were in a bar and there was an accident outside some guy hit a patch of water and flipped his pinto. It was upside down when we got out there and he was strapped in. We gently maneuvered the guy out and onto the ground ... we ended up administering cpr with protection of course but found out the man ended up dying with severe head injuries. That was another profound instance in my life and when I got hurt active duty and was in the medical hold company waiting discharge and got sent to the new born nursery to do bilirubin's and pku test I had to quite after about 5 days that I could not do, felt so wrong to do a brand new baby that way.

Your explanation is my exact point. Watch the horror, it will make you tough, it will make you strong.

It does not.

Insensitivity due to the Mind being repeatedly shocked by disturbing content, does not make one tough.

It make them callous. And insensitive to empathy.


Violence is birthed from the callous disregard of those outside a perceived 'group' or Self.

Callousness is formed by wear. Just like the skin. To make HARD due to repetitive strain.

Some callouses are necessary to progress, other are an unnecessary burden we place on ourselves.

Why does Man feel compelled to watch other being violently murdered? I ask this as the 60in screen to my direct left displays images of men beating each other half to death cinematically.

I watched this back like in early 2009 before I even knew about GLP lol ... not my thing to watch violence in that manner either. There are some movies tho like Transformers I will watch for what I may learn about certain things. But real violence nope. I have been exposed to enough of that , have a certain part that was trained to kick in tho in those kinds of events with the military training I had while in Germany , was stationed in a front line unit for war time connected to a Mash unit ( Mobile Army Surgical Hospital)

You have those that seeks horror becasue they like the sensation, the shock!

And you have those That are Aware and knowing of its implications!

Nobody is perfect and this world welcomes all possibilites and flavours.

Willfully disregarding some energy pattern can be worst then learning from them.
