But sooner or later I will begin talking to myself again. We can pause thought through meditation, but I don't wish to be a monk and meditate away my existence. So, I use these triggers. I dull them just enough to control them. Stopping a thought has little to do with meditation...It can certainly be practiced there however. It is recognizing the space between emotional stimuli and the proceeding effect of said. How one chooses to react. That is why I often bring up impulsivity and the often poor result of action due to said. Not always of course. It is choice.
