i was popped out
letting the rush flow through me like wind through trees

being prompted that Eucharist may take on differing meaning
feels like those within the church saw the significance in relation to shamanism

Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, and the Church of the East teach that the reality (the "substance") of the elements of bread and wine is wholly changed into the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ, while the appearances (the "species") remain. Transubstantiation is the term used by Roman Catholics to denote what is changed, not to explain how the transformation occurs, since the Catholic Church teaches that "the signs of bread and wine become, in a way surpassing understanding, the Body and Blood of Christ" [link to en.wikipedia.org]

On an entirely unrelated note...

I have been pondering on this image for the last 3 days or so, due to androgyny being a reoccurring topic.

I find it curious that St. John was depicted so feminine...

Synchy. They were discussing this this morning on the radio. Bread and wine and how it is 'literally' supposed to be Jesus.

My immediate thought was, 'Isn't that cannibalism?"

That's a pretty good synch.
