Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14516845 "According to meteorological experts, the excessive winds were produced by a phenomenon known as a gravity wave, which is difficult to predict and typically does not produce winds of the level of severity experienced Wednesday." [link to www.cruisecritic.com] In case you're wondering, here's what a "gravity wave" looks like... Thread: "Gravity Wave" hits Carnival Cruise ship in dock and breaks mooring... that /z\ is an interesting video and this \z/ is an in explanation In fluid dynamics, gravity waves are waves generated in a fluid medium or at the interface between two media (e.g., the atmosphere and the ocean) which has the restoring force of gravity or buoyancy. Quoting: observation[link to en.wikipedia.org] In physics, fluid dynamics is a subdiscipline of fluid mechanics that deals with fluid flow—the natural science of fluids (liquids and gases) in motion Quoting: observation[link to en.wikipedia.org] Fluid mechanics is the branch of physics that studies fluids (liquids, gases, and plasmas) and the forces on them. Quoting: observation[link to en.wikipedia.org] only at the end do we enter the domain of cause the forces on them thus whatever these forces are they cause the visible signs we see and we have discovered the forces are not only gravity |

Is history always doomed to repeat itself? I'd say so if there is ignorance of what never was. I watched that movie the Crucible with Winona Rider and it was based off a true story/event. I just think how crazy it is that one person could create a thoughtform so big that the whole town looses its common sense over one persons vengeance. I would be scared if rationality is lost forever. |

Quoting: Serpens South Star ClusterThat's crazy. That is how I imagined sections of the universe being birthed a few years ago. I saw it as two or more layers (membranes/bubbles), merging. Basically, it is as if the membranes could not hold out the different 'blobs' on either side of the membrane. When they 'merged' they formed new/different structure/functions within that merged zone. There is also evidence for similar Gould belts in other galaxies. Quoting: [link to en.wikipedia.org] I often wonder can we feel the dark matter coming closer, stored in the ‘membrane’, creation brushing up against itself (‘merged zone’). Weird you say this, yesterday I posted a little of my dream. The one with triangles and circles. Later though in the night I had another dream about black blobs on roof tops creeping and waiting. There was people below, like a carnival type place having fun. But I kept hearing 'don't drink the water'. My impression was the black blobs were waiting for the people that were drinking the carnival water. Whatever that all means, lol |
