the difference between east and west appears to be this

the Chinese stayed with what fu zi told them up until this day

the west changed what Ningishzida told them and constructed consecutive god upon god onto the original script of Ningishzida, each with a variation of belief and storyline
up to this present day

different role for women

Thinking outside the box with this story. Alot of creation stories are encased with water. I think the aether was considered water. Now, this flood, say it is not a flood flood but a flood of aether. If you read a little down in the story, fu xi taught the people. Where did all those people come from if there was only two survivors. I think they were the only two that had their beliefs and intuitions close together and the others were like dion said.

I came to that conclusion of many old writings as well, Fancy.

Interesting! I also think those two werent the only ones. But probably also people in different areas all over from other stories about floods and survivors.
