When you all say, "I stopped eating wheat and I feel better", by wheat, are you referring to shelf stable breads laden with tremendous amounts of unpronounceable preservatives, or are you referring to bread that you ground from whole grains, kneaded, and baked yourselves?

Most of my customers have told me that after going to fresh breads they ground and baked themselves, all their gluten "intolerances" magically disappeared. This leads me to believe that gluten is not the devil's powder that it's being made out to be.

In college, I had a friend from Paris who ate the same diet in the US that she ate in FR, and she gained weight. The only difference was that she bought her groceries from stores here, and ate fresh produce in-season from markets in Paris.

This leads me to believe that our entire production and distribution chain in the US is poisoned. I ask you, why did I see high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient in a can of beans the other day?

Bread, for me, is just to keep the mustard off my hands when eating a sandwich...I'd rather fill up on veggies and meat :)

I like that too...I get a 12" Sub every two weeks or so...other than that I don't have bread...I don't even like the rolls they bring out before the meal at a restaurant, but you see the fatties gobbling them up and asking for more.

I am talking about all wheat, whether GMO or otherwise. Even ancient wheat is not so good for you. It contains an anti-nutrient which block absorption such as phytic acid. Modern hybrid dwarf wheat is even worse. But all wheat should be avoided, unless you have no choice but to eat it or starve.

Pasta is good but not everyday and you need antipasto. Don't forget red wine, add 1/2-2/3 bottles wine to your daily diet and you will learn to keep in balance.

Durum pasta is 12-15 percent protein (more than most industrial meat-products actually), and when cooked aldente it digests max slowly (no carbon hydrate and insulin peak).

Wine, except very sweet wine with added sugar, will not turn on insulin peak.

No insulin peak means body keeps in fat-burning stage (means: stay slim). Add garlic, onions, tomatoes, cucumber, aubergine, citron, balsamic vinegar, basilica, oregano, salt, pepper, chili, olive oil, cheese, chicken, fish, etc. to your taste.

The more food tastes, the less is needed ... reminds me how non-tasty burgers are, maximized, scientific proved non-tastiness to provoke more eating than necessary ... how can anybody american be proud of that mdonals culture created worldwide ...

We have the %99,99 DNA structure of our ancestors from roughly 2,5 million years ago but we've been eating wheat (and many other crops) only for 10.000 years.
And for all the minerals and vitamins issue, the soil isn't that rich anymore. One sould include suplements in the diet anyways.

youre talking a whole country and culture shut down

If you said tommorow, No Pasta in Europe !!, youd be looked upon like a mad man shutting down a whole country and culture who are in great health

Europeans do just fine on pasta cause they eat it al dente

You all need to do a bit more research..

No more Olive Garden for you !

Americans, look into aspartame and chemicals for the answer to your woes..Other countries are doing just fine and better than us and they eat with family until theyre pleasantly full.
Chemicals are causing our downfall.
Bet you complain about wheat while chugging down a aspartame laced diet pop

When I say I feel much healthier since I cut out all wheat and all gluten, what I mean is this: the nutritional supplements I take seem to work better. That is, they are better absorbed. Nutritional supplements weren't nearly as effective before I cut out all wheat and gluten. My digestive tract can now properly absorb nutrients. My hair and nails grow much faster. I don't have a sugar crash after eating and have much more stable energy throughout the day (wheat spikes your blood sugar level). I am losing unhealthy weight. My obsessive compulsive disorder is fading away. My anxiety and mood problems are fading away. I feel 100% better after years of trying all sorts of supplements. Cutting out wheat and gluten is the golden key to better health.

Re: gluten and wheat?
I found this article pretty interesting, and now I want to research it further.

I sort of cut out most wheat products out of pure want. I just don't like bread or pasta very much, and I knew something was strange when I even cut out donuts and cakes several years back. Not because I had to, I just didn't want them anymore. However, I will have them once in a blue moon..for instance,

.. the other night we ordered pizza, and I had a slice. About three hours later, it promptly came right back up. Two months or so before that, I ate a breaded hamburger and the same thing happened. Usually I eat a patty alone when I make it, and dip it in some steak sauce.(mmmm!)This article has me wondering now, and made me think back to eating those things. Am I allergic or something?

On the other hand, the 'wheatier' a beer tastes, the better I like it; yet I prefer wines. I also hate milk, but love cheeses. ( I also hated eggs and mayo, since I was little)

My extended family eats all these, and have a lot of problems with either weight or diabetes or the like. My body remains pretty constant.

I wonder if my body is just telling me maybe I shouldn't eat these things, and developed a natural distaste for them?

I was with you until that last line

Why do you think "Americans" as a mass would take pride or not in the activities of a private business whose expansion plans we have no control over?

I give no thought to McDonalds, or what they do around the world

We have thousands of companies, who we do not control, doing things we may or may not approve of, just as your country has

The only reason I would take pride in McDonalds would be if it were my company or I were a director working for them, responsible for sales or other activities

Please stop assigning emotions or blame to "Americans" , all 350 million of us. We are incredibly diverse as a country and many of us disagree with the activities of our large corporations

thanks!

Be patient and we will crack the genetic codes and apply appropiate diets for all.

My family and I are the only people I know who crave cottage cheese (of all things). It makes sense to me because both sides of my family spent ten thousand years in Ireland, where curds were a staple (they called them white meat) and cows were for dairy production more than meat production.

The same with oatmeal. High cholesterol runs in our family, but if we eat our historical staple oatmeal, it lowers our cholesterol.

I have thus begun researching ancient Irish foods in an effort to better align my diet with that of my ancestors.

Re: gluten and wheat?
I have cut wheat and gluten out of my diet and am already losing weight and feeling a lot healthier.

Same here, it's actually been pretty easy because I use almond flour to make my bread, crepes, pancakes, etc. I don't miss the wheat or other white stuff.

Excellent... If you don't mind me asking, do you substitute cup for cup the almond flour or do you add anything else to that?

TYI ~

Yes, cause its also the whole wheat, OP is giving out dangerous info when whole wheat can change lives, provide nutrition and prevent nervous breakdown and insomnia with its complex b vitamins.

Not everyone will be sensitive to whole wheat or gluten as the studies suggest. However, they also suggest that most people are sensitive to some degree. Most foods are indeed much better for you in their natural state :)

It just takes knowing your genetics, People cry, CONSPIRACY EVIL !
when its probaly their bloodline from some other planet long ago and wheat is foreign to them. (no one believes we all came from Africa story anymore)

I come from a bloodline where wheat is like a balm to us. Secret societies do teach where wheat comes from.
Our Patriarch brought the wheat down to earth from his world

If youre from somewhere else, its not my fault. Stop crying me a river and find what native foods grow on your planet. lol

Im being serious here, One of the first Secret Society teachings I got was where wheat came from
Im not lying.

Yeah, figured some would laugh at me. One day youll find out

Think of why the Free Masonry has a sheaf of wheat as of their predominate symbols. It means more than simply "abudance"

Re: gluten and wheat?
It's not the gluten itself.

Try bromides in bread, even gatorade, along with HFCS and other processes.

Vital wheat gluten is the future of mankind (the faux meats market) and yields much high quality protein.
